I had guessed SC would give Stewart a nationwide platformâŚDonât mess with Jon Stewart
Iâd still vote for either of these guys for president.
i love Stewart, would totally vote him into office
Without intent to disparage the current Democratic candidates, both Stewart and Colbert are smart enough to know not to run for president.
And yet the majority of first respondents will still continue to vote for republicans.
Sadly, Jon was preaching to the choir. McConnell was too busy helping his wife get unearned profits for their family businesses.
And I bet KY votes him overwhelming back into the Senate next year.
But because first responders arenât the same kind of assh*les as republican legislators.
McConnell cares more about some incident at a 7/11 in Louisville than the 9/11 first responders.
As Trump once said âremember the attacks of 7/11!â
The authoritarian mind set.
There also may be a bit of racism among a certain subset.
Ka Boom!!! Bravo, Jon, for exposing McConnell for being grotesquely out of touch and shamelessly political. KY, Mitch has got to go!
McConnell has been playing on the differences in jellied lung damage among responders. Smokers seem to have it worst, so McConnell has been arguing for years that they brought this on themselves to some extent and, unfortunate as it sounds, deserve to die. The irony is McConnellâs close bond with Big Tobacco. Heâs happy winning both ways.
âOur state once grew tobacco like none other,â said McConnell. âAnd now weâre being hit by the health consequences of tobacco use like none other.â
Paducah, KY was home to the Gaseous Diffusion Plant, an uranium enrichment location for half of the nuclear power and weapons produced in this country. When workers at the plant became ill with cancer and other radiation-caused health tragedies, McConnell was quick to get Congress to pay for their healthcare. It was extravagant with reimbursement rates well above what private carriers or even other government agencies would pay (I was a vendor).
But when it comes to those Yankees in New York, Mitch says, âscrew 'em.â As evidenced above, it is not because he doesnât want to spend the money.

Hey, Yertle!
Before you attempt to engage in a battle of wits with Jon Stewart, I suggest you have a little chat with your FoxNews pal, Chicken Pot Pie Boy Tucker Carlson. He has some devastating personal insight on the matter.
Jon Stewart is a national treasure.
you have no idea how powerful the âroad industryâ is in KY., I used to live there, and the monthly âroad lettingâ was a big event. 'âroad lettingâ is when the road contracts were awarded⌠MCCONNEL is from JEFFERSON COUNTY[LOUISVILLE] and I bet every two- track there has been paved.
McConnellâs recent born-again support for raising the smoking age from 18 to 21 is yet another peg on his hypocrisy board, having accepted millions from the tobacco industry, his opposition to smoke-free zones, even opposition to including tobacco in student anti-drug classes.
McConnell is even late to the game. Some Big Tobacco Co supported raising the legal age to 21 last year, in the hope of diluting regulations on adolescent vaping.
So why do the opposing candidates not highlight this hypocrisy and all the other hypocrisy in his career and run on it?
And half of them bear his name.
It is hard to lose a fight when you have everything right on your side. I wish more Democrats would use a little of Stewartâs righteous anger when talking about the flagrant disregard for human decency that the Republicans are now flaunting publicly in tribute to their ignorant and amoral leader.
McConnell always stoops to belittling and ad hominem attacks when he gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
Oh, but we have to rise above all that venom, right? Dems canât be nasty like the GOP or weâre unfit to lead, especially if the candidate is female.
Pffft.
