Perhaps Stewart should have mentioned Huckabee’s own lack of parenting skills. Stones, dogs, glass houses, etc.
Huckabee will never go on Stewarts’ show again, John made a fool of him…Yeaaaaaaaa
Huck, oh Huck, you are Presidential and don’t you dare let anyone ever tell you otherwise. We do too want you to run! Don’t ever think we don’t! You can beat Hilary and Elizabeth and don’t ever believe you can’t!
His general issue with Beyoncé has nothing to do with his opinion of her lyrics, which are not that raunchy. His problem is that she isn’t ashamed to admit that she enjoys sex, in all its messy glory, especially with her husband. The fact that he has no problem with Nugent’s lyrics because they are for “adults”, as if Beyoncé targets her music to the Disney channel is fairly telling. Adult male enjoying sex and talking about = just good old adult fun. Adult woman enjoying sex and not ashamed to talk about= depravity.
Of course Queen Bey can’t be a good role model. She doesn’t know how to skin a boar, cut her leg open with a chainsaw, have kids out of wedlock, hunt young deer with bait, or force an underage lover’s parents to sign over legal guardianship.
Oh sure he will. He was having a good time up there. Shows Stewart is a good host.
Huckabee will never win, thankfully, because of his views. But, he COULD be a serious contender if he modified those views (which pols do all the time). A very good speaker.
Throughout the late 70s, Ted Nugent was marketed heavy to pre-teen and teenage boys.
“She doesn’t have to be vulgar to set a trend…Come on, Jon, we don’t do this in our culture.”
I’ll never understand these people*. I mean, your entire economic platform is unregulated free market capitalism. Banks can rat-fuck our country into oblivion; firearms should be allowed everywhere and anywhere; the health insurance industry can drop us when we get sick, and what could possibly go wrong with privatized military.
"B-b-b-but…Beyonce is sexy, guys. SEXY! We don’t need this in our culture oh god why is life so hard!’’
*Conservatives
This charlatan doesn’t live in “fly-over country”. He lives in a 3.5 million dollar beach house on the Florida gulf coast, and up until very recently worked in fucking Manhattan. The image he wants to cultivate of himself tooling along in a old truck and dispensing home-spun wisdom is bullshit.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the vast majority of his early record sales were sold to an under 18 demographic.
Sadly, I can attest to that myself. Even saw him live once while I was in high school. There, got it off my chest.
Ditto. Am I absolved of my sins?
Further acknowledgement - as a pre-teen/teenage boy I also watched ‘wrasslin’ on Saturday mornings (Jerry the King Lawler, Rocky Johnson)… There. Now that’s off my chest as well. Anybody for a flying suplex or piledriver?
The logic here is that if you have unregulated free market capitalism, you have to rely on private morality to save your soul, so he’s making it a moral issue to oppose her. He’s not saying to ban her. Conservatives aren’t actually for pure free market capitalism though. They are willing to ban lots of stuff. They aren’t libertarians. But, that’s the logic. It is not really hypocrisy on that level.
Gotta give this a ‘like’, if only for the hair.
Plus he had a book to stump. Huckabee is just a more polished and likable version of Sarah Palin. He has no more likelihood of being nominated for President. He is just a self-promoting huckster and the next time he has something to pitch, he will be back on the Daily Show.
Oh my…
Vote for him. You can see all you need of him right there. He reveals his problem solving skills, character and intellect right there for you.
The problem with the stripper pole is it’s a prop in a video and she doesn’t strip in that video. But look at him twist and contorts to call foul on a few women then defends “making the pussy purr” when he is jamming with that. Perhaps Beyonce’s audience was intended to be adults too. Who knows…Huck sure doesn’t.
