Discussion for article #238416
So how big was the payout Stein, you whore? And which other primary candidate did it come from? Prolly Team “No-big-words” Jeb!, hmm?
Ben Stein sold his soul ages ago when he went to work for Nixon. I think it was in the contract all of Nixon’s people signed. In order to get the job, they forfeited their soul.
Stein said Trump’s political solutions were “crude.”
“I can’t see him doing anything but damage to the Republican Party,” he said.
A GOPer lacking either of the above attributes would be akin to a bird sans feathers. What would be left to peg them as a Republican?
And Ben Stein knows charm when he sees it.
Funnily enough, I have always thought of Ben Stein as a sort of ambulatory Charles Krauthammer, but without the charm.
George Wallace may have been chaming to a Nixonian Republican but believe me, Ben, he was not charming in the least to anyone with his head on straight.
Curse you. You replied before I corrected the spelling
Guess what Ben?
You and the GOP own him.
Yeah right? Charm of George Wallace! Wow.
Damage the Republican Party? Have you seen today’s Republican Party? Listened to talk radio, watched Fox News? Damage the party? … He IS the party!
You built this republi-tards, you own it!
Yes, I know Wallace recanted his positions when faced with The Big Chill, a kind of deathbed conversion. Lee Atwater did the same with his brain tumor.
But with a public figure, the damage has been done.
It’s hard to credit these intimations of mortality conversions when the person has done so much hurt to so many innocents.
I think they all end up in the 9th Ring of the Inferno anyway. Too little too late.
I hope it’s not too late for me and my sins.
Well, Ben the rage and frustration they feel has been induced by propaganda written and promoted by your colleagues. So maybe you should take a look at yourself as the main reason someone like Trump is so well received by the GOP base.
Because Richard Nixon is a byword for subtlety and sophistication in his solutions. Like breaking into a psychiatrists office or bugging your political opponents.Let alone sending the FBI and IRS after people who you don’t agree with.Faking letters…
pssst. It’s “genteel.”
So Stein and I agree on this one, but so what? The man would blow a goat for a few bucks – drop to his knees.
Unfortunately Stein’s concern here is only for the republican party brand, not a real stand against the odious nature of the republican party’s positions in which are fine to communicate in dog whistle form only.
“Gentile” and “genteel” (which I think you meant) and “gentle” may look pretty similar but have extremely different meanings. Spelling 101 this isn’t, but please check the definitions of what you’re writing.
Stein is no better than Trump, he’s racist scum! It’s like the pot calling the kettle black!
