So the City prosecutor is going to subpoena the Governor’s cell phone records.
This is going to be interesting.
Various St. Louis media outlets have known about this for a long time. They all sat on it because, while the woman’s husband spoke out both publicly (he had numerous anti-Greitens Facebook posts, calling Greitens a homewrecker, etc.) and to the media, she wouldn’t go on record.
That said, I have to wonder: How could a state prosecutor, much less the local DA, not be aware of this before now?
… Oh, wait. Is this an election year?
Well there is the fact that Kim Gardner only took office in Jan. 2017, so she’s new. The previous Prosecutor Jennifer Joyce was in office since 2000. St. Louis and it’s officials are all Democrats so Gardner wouldn’t have any traction is she knew about during the election.
I do recall that Trump was trying very hard to “fuck” another man’s wife. Maybe Greitens could give him some pointers.
And if you’re wrong? “It sucks to be governor?”
No consequences for the liars or incompetents?
Probably they did know. But Republicans hold majorities in both houses of the Mo. legislature. And a veto-proof majority in the MO House. And remember, this is the state legislature that had a bust of Rush Limbaugh officially enshrined in the state capital rotunda. (No, I’m not kidding).
I thought we moved that to the men’s room?
No it’s still there. Spot lights and all.
I work with two former city prosecutors and also voted for Gardner. She is a great trial attorney.
Also, the Missouri Republican Attorney General is in a catch twenty-two here since he is running against Claire McCaskill for the Senate. This could quickly become a national story.
This is all true, but I’ve spent a lot of time speaking to Republicans in Jefferson City and it’s not what it seems. This governor does not have allies there. Look at Senator Schaaf’s tweet from today. That feeling is widespread.
It would be interesting to see how these prosecutors handled similar cases of sexting pictures and blackmailing. You can be sure there is some teen in Missouri who had their life upended; cut off from college applications, credit score downgrade, diminished job prospects etc. because they screwed up, engaged in youthful folly by texting a picture of their junk to some school crush.
Well, the “rotunda” part makes sense.
“Blackmail? You’re the blackmail!” - Eric Greitens deploying the Trump defense.
I was going to make some joke about the whole Capitol being the men’s room due to the scarcity of female legislators, but, as paltry as MO’s 22.3% share is, I discovered that CA only has 21.7%. DE and VA are the only blue states that have a lower percentage.
Damn, CA, let’s get our act together. Yes, the red states include the state with the lowest share (looking at you, WY) and they dominate the lower half of the list, but blue states should be setting their own standards and not settling for clearing the low bar.
But , I thought they were asking God for His help in the situation ? ( Oh right , Bible Bashers don*t actually believe in God ) .
A lot of kinky mofos in government. Yeah I realize this probably the same as it’s always been, but just a lot more public these days with all the electronic media.
I wonder if any BDSM groups have put out statements specifically disavowing the governor’s nonconsensual behavior. He’s giving kink a bad name.
You give kink a bad name. Isn’t that a Bondage Jovi song?
