The president should go down and make a speech to bring everyone together; to set aside differences and strive for the common good; about how we are all important and valuable members of a strong, diverse community and country; to assure calm, reasoned discussion about issues that can, but need not, divide us.
And don’t forget to mention how there are good people on both sides!
Excellent documentary on the event, saw it last night on Frontline:
“…a state of emergency…”
Ongoing for the entire world since the early-morning hours of November 9, 2016.
Since when does the criminal determine how long the investigation of their crimes goes on for?
“We do not want to run into the November elections. So back up from that, this should be over by September 1,” Giuliani said.
State of emergency? More like a Corey Stewart campaign rally.
“I vant to beeld the were-old a om, end furnish it with the love.”

Like you, I’d like to see him do the same but with the entire Trump Family Singers in tow.

[/quote]Coca-Cola for everyone!
Except the immigrants. They came for our jobs and our Cokes.
Get ready for the flood of left wing violence videos from victimized, peace seeking, poor, supremecist white guys with unfortunately erroneously DNA. They always seem to send the MOST supreme of the group to be seen by the world.
ICYMI Here’s the link to FRONTLINE and ProPublica’s Documenting Hate: Charlottesville episode that aired last night. This is excellent.
What’s so sad is that we don’t have a President who could ever deliver a message like that in a convincing way.
You are talking about the current president, not the one who came before? Just trying to decide if I should laugh or cry.
Well if Mueller is following DoJ guidelines then his team will go quiet 6 weeks out of from the mid-terms. Now I wonder if Mueller announces something right before the cut off will the media still report on it?
Hey! Those immigrants are the ones bring us the Coke!
According to the Dotard.
@tiowally
I heard the reporter on NPR last week. I tried to watch last night, but it really upset me to see the pictures of what was going on. I’ll try again to finish it.
On Yom HaShoah, one of the “lucky” ones spoke at our temple about surviving Poland and Germany as a child. Afterward, as we informally mingled and noshed, he was besieged by others who lost family. I overheard one middle-aged woman tell him of her late father and uncle, who also survived, and their tears of joy at seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time, as they arrived in America.
She related a recent discussion with her cousin, a clinical psychiatrist, who said both of their fathers were lucky to have died before Charlottesville. It was his professional opinion that it would have triggered severe PTSD in both elderly men. She concurred.
This is where we are in America in 2018: Relieved that parents died before Trump could hurt them again.
Oy. Vey.
Good for Virginia and Charlottesville to prepare for the event properly and taking this as seriously as it should. It’ll be even better if the Police choose to get involved and do their jobs this time should the Crazy White Men’s Party show up.
I have occasionally thought about what it would be like if Ted Kennedy were still alive.
