Discussion: State Grand Jury Indicts McCrae Dowless In Absentee Ballot Scheme

If he just brings that sad puppy look to the trial, he’ll be OK.

When are they going to indict his co-conspirator and paymaster Mark Harris?

Maybe I’ve been watching too much Law & Order, but I assume as the trial wears on, the prosecutors will offer Dowless a plea in exchange for testifying against Harris or his campaign.

That is, unless the prosecutor is curiously uninterested in learning whether the conspiracy extends further than Dowless.

That was quick…

The GOP is going to get their full re-do and win the election, proving to everyone that cheating is effective and encouraged. SMH

More to the point, are they ever going to indict the North Carolina Republican Party?

They have to be really careful whom Dowless agrees/threatens to roll over on. I think he’s angling for doing his time and going back to being an operative. But there may well be some NC GOP types who are hoping something happens to him in prison.

The article didn’t mention (and should have) but these charges are for his 2016 general and 2018 primary election fraud. 2018 general is still being investigated.

No guillotine for Dowless. No siree. He gets the wood-chipper.

Missed this yesterday immersed in the Cohen hearings, but this is good news. Figured that maybe nothing would ever come of this. Hope Harris will be next.

This particular case is coming from the Wake County (Raleigh) DA who is an elected Democrat.

There’s no reason to believe she would take it easy on Harris. The Trump appointed US attorney, on the other hand…
