Never been in a restaurant where you had to ask for a key to use the restroom ,Don’t most people wash their hands before they eat?. I know I do.
It’s really not all that odd for fast food places and the like to have a policy where you have to buy something to use the restroom. This is especially true near colleges, bar districts, and disadvantaged neighborhoods. The problem with some Starbucks is that they were only enforcing the policy with some patrons (the black ones) while allowing white people to use the facilities as they pleased.
