Discussion: Spicer Vaguely Says GOP Is Getting 'Closer' To Obamacare Repeal Deal

What’s lost in all this is the idea of a consensus bill…the Republicans made great hay out of saying Obamacare was passed without Republican votes, but of course they aren’t bothering to try to get a single Democrat onboard with their repeal. Which is a good thing, they will own whatever happens if they manage to get one of their atrocities passed. Hopefully people (and especially the media) hold their feet to the fire for not involving anyone outside their party in this.

Spicer at his Tuesday press briefing vaguely suggested that Republicans were getting “closer and closer every day.”

Yes, closer and closer to 43 Yea votes. Damn that Zeno and his paradoxes!

“What we’re trying to do is work through issues that are important to all of us but make sure that pre-existing conditions are taken care of.”

This might as well say, “make sure unicorn fart-driven perpetual energy machines are delivered to every home” for all the likelihood of it. Underfunded high-risk pools will cause a literal and figurative death spiral.

Yes they are getting closer to the event horizon on ACA. But once they reach it, they won’t be able to change it.

Damn laws of general relativity! (Guess what’s going to be repealed next  )
