Wonder if Trump realized that Douglass travelled on a phony passport to escape tyranny and get to a country that recognized his rights.

I think the contributions of Frederick Douglass will become more and more."

More and more what? Spicer was talking in ludicrous speed at the end of that answer.

Fun fact: Frederick Douglass was the first minority VP candidate.

On account of him being a Radical Republican, he ignored the honor, but Spicer would get triple the brownie points, if he knew that ; but hey moar comedy.

Perry would forget that Douglass was the third civil rights leader he wanted to eliminate.

“Mr. Spicer, neither you nor the President have any idea who Frederick Douglass was. Is that correct?”
“Um, yes that would be an accurate statement”.
Actually, Spicer may know and is just playing along, but trump hasn’t the slightest inkling nor interest.

Once more we have graphic examples of the ignorance, sophistry, deception, and dissembling of this Trump administration. That these people are now in positions of such power is truly an embarrassment to the country and all thinking, patriotic, and concerned Americans. During the campaign Trump welcomed and praised the under-educated. With each passing day it becomes clearer as to why. Trump rejects the notion of an educated populous, An under-educated and ignorant electorate is easier to manipulate. We should all be profoundly fearful for the future of our nation and the world.

“I think he wants to highlight the contributions that he has made,”
Spicer responded. “And I think through a lot of the actions and
statements that he’s going to make, I think the contributions of
Frederick Douglass will become more and more.”

Holy FUCK, I didn’t think they’d double down on this. Their ignorance is breathtaking.

I doubt it. Hollywood would pay him 20 million a picture to act that convincingly.

Like Sally Yates, Senator Collins has betrayed the Administration. Clearly, she must be replaced with someone who is loyal.
