It’s impossible to take Spicer seriously at this point. He’s a caricature of a press secretary.
You always write it’s bombing, bombing, bombing. It’s not bombing, it’s air support.
– Air Force Colonel David Opfer, complaining to reporters about their coverage of the Vietnam War.
circa 1972.
“And if this doesn’t work, It’s Obama’s fault…”
Spicey, please tell us how the launch of 59 cruise missiles to attack a nearly deserted airfield serves to de-escalate the ongoing civil war in Syria! That assertion is making my head spin.
In my book , firing deadly missiles at a useless military target always equates with deescalization.I saw it on Faux news.
Melissa McCarthy pretty much finished him .
Is there one person on the planet that doesn’t think of her every time they see him.
He writes an SNL skit every time he opens his mouth
He seems to struggle with the English language. I’d think that a bit of a non-starter for a Press Secretary.
Then again he is trying to rationalize and defend Trump and his administration
Can’t be done in any language
Worst Job in the world
Baghdad Bob would have quit by now
"Look, we ignored the warning signs and the workers telling us to go around and we stepped in that wet cement, but now we’re going to wipe it off our shoes and pretend the whole thing never happened.
But it did get Trump’s approval back up to 40%, so there is that."
In what way did the cruise missile attack deter chemical weapons use in Syria?
So … Trump is going to make the world so safe that people can happily and confidently stay where they are without fear of persecution, because that’s a more achievable and cost-effective policy than taking in all those refugees from persecution around the world.
And in the meantime, it’s important to slam the doors on all those refugees who haven’t reached optimum contentment yet because they have so much to look forward to at home.
Seriously, people. Is anybody* buying this crap any more?
That 95 million spent on the missiles would’ve bought a lot of food for the Syrian refugees. I would think that would’ve been better than a “symbolic pinprick” which accomplished nothing. Well, other than this:
Yeah, and fridays bombing goes a loooong way the de-escalationing …
“Our Freedom Bombs will make Syria a safe place for children! So they don’t have to come here.”
Yes but…I speak English as a second language to Dutch and Spanish but I think I could do better.
“That strike was not against Syria or its people. It was not against Russia. It was a strike against the use of weapons of mass destruction. It doesn’t matter where such weapons are used. Syria or anywhere in the world the USA has a moral imperative to stop it. We want to stop Assad. We want to stop ISIS but this was about stopping WMD and the killing of non-combatant innocents with them”.
That’s the kind of crap the press expects from a Spox.
Spicer is either a huge ass-kisser or just somehow manages to stay out of President Kushner’s sight, now that he Prez is in fire everyone mood.
In a better journalism story - Congratulations to Fahrenthold. Well-deserved!
Really? Firing off 60 cruise missiles in an attempt to violently destroy an entire air field in an attempt to send a message of aggression and warning through a show of military power and force is “de-escalation”?
“We have to destroy the village to save the village.”
