That’s about the most substantive thing I have to say about this article, aside from wishing O’Rourke were running for the Senate instead. (He was supposed to have officially decided something by the end of February, last I heard, so maybe he’s in Iowa for other reasons?)

That’s Iowa and New Hampshire, making sure white people get to be first in line.
For what it’s worth, Obama almost certainly would not have won the party’s nomination, and thus the general election, if not for his win in Iowa.
I do take your larger point, but sometimes, Iowa can matter a great deal.
