Discussion for article #236894
I love Anderson Cooper and CNN acting righteously indignant about this idiot’s actions, all the while giving him tons of undeserved publicity, in order to prop up their ratings.
Thanks a lot, CNN.
Not to profile or anything but it’s hard to take seriously someone with the shaved head, schnauzer beard look.
This man shows a focused and radically limited capacity to reason.
Inasmuch, I don’t see a holy-helluva chance for his children to have a good future.
Hate doesn’t make for a prosperous outlook or sunny disposition.
And it looks as if those kids are already in the deep-end of that gene pool.

“But it’s what needs to take place in order to expose the true colors of Islam.”
Look, it's red, gold, a little purple and black and yellow. There, that's out there. Done. Cancel your rally. Asked...answered.
Now, if only CNN would grill some of the conservative political leaders who instill and encourage such groundless fear in their followers – Huckabee, Cruz, et al… Do they endorse such confrontations? Do they think such actions take us in the right direction? Would they ask Ritzheimer to call off his confrontation? But CNN and the MSM typically save their tough questions for the obvious bozos like Ritzheimer – focusing on the little guys is easy and avoids discomfort when elite Villagers meet for cocktails after hours… And if only Cooper had asked Ritzheimer whom he admires among current conservative leadership; what media sources he tunes into; what party he will support in the next election…
Thus, only exposing his true colors.
Anderson DESTROYS this moron’s talking points for the empty headed nonsense they are. I think he even starts to realize it when he acts like a two year old child and just pouts. What a big baby.
I read that Jon was an ex-Marine. Any chance we’re witnessing PTSD?
“Yeah, I don’t want to live in fear. I shouldn’t have to live in fear,” Ritzheimer answered, adding that he has received “credible threats.”
What an absolute douchebag: "I’m tired of having to live in fear of those people acting like they have a right to practice their religion in their place of worship!" Yeah, I mean it’s not like the Constitution has anything specific in there that allows something like that.
So after warring around in Iraq, this man is still totally clueless about Islam until he gets back to the US and is enlightened by Pam Geller and her slimy crowd.
This dude is dumber than a saguaro.
“Yeah, I don’t want to live in fear. I shouldn’t have to live in fear,” Ritzheimer answered, adding that he has received “credible threats.”
Well, hey, Sparky, that’s what happens when you stick your pecker into a meat grinder.
You wanted those threats. You needed those threats. You begged for these threats, because they reaffirm your Islamophobia. Of course, had you instead chosen to taunt some band of so-called Christian ammosexual gundamentalist Klansmen in a way they found offensive, you’d have earned your precious death threats too.
Since you got what you’re in it for, I find your predictable right wing playing of the victim to be hilarious. You are one bona-fide asshole.
Shorter Ritzheimer: "I’m tired of living in fear of being stung while I beat on hornet nests"
My thought on what we are seeing is a person that hates muslims so much he wants to kill them. So he’s try to provoke a fight where he can legally kill some.
Buried in here somewhere is the point that no one has the right to impose his/her beliefs on someone else: You’re not justified in treating me as a criminal for drawing a picture of your prophet.
Tragically, the only people we see even remotely engaging in this debate are guys like this. There are things “wrong” with Islam, as there are with any superstition. I just wish we could get some level-headed people to bring the debate to the TV audience.
The Saguaro cactus is smart enough to not waste water in a very hot dry climate. I’m not sure about this fellow.
This fellow is ultra myopic. Every image I have seen of him he looks ready to chew glass he is so angry. I was gonna say something snarky like “he looks nice” but this is rather serious, depending on how many armed idiots show up.
“Peaceful” protest while armed and provoking is much like taking guns to a drunken biker rally serving free booze to the Banditos and whoever their rivals are. Arizona has its nest of wackos, sad to say. And we have probably the loosest gun laws in America which I am not proud of. So this might not end well. Here’s my take on Ritzheimer’s followers:
Most of the comments here are some variation on the “he’s just asking for trouble” notion. I find this troubling.
I’ve mocked many a RWNJ who insists that marriage equality is somehow a violation of his/her faith. I’m a firm believer that you follow your rules, but your rules don’t apply to everyone when they violate the Constitution or proper legislative action.
This is no different. Your rules may bar you from drawing pictures of your prophet, but you don’t get to impose those rules on others. And this case is actually worse – nobody that I know of has picked up arms to stop marriage equality in this country.
There is something fundamentally illiberal about a religion that you all implicitly believe can prompt its followers to violence based on a drawing. That is incompatible with the basic notions of our society, and is at least equally as repugnant as Christianist behavior that is mocked here all the time.
Nice gibberish there dude…you went to the Palin school of journalism huh…lol. Show me all the muslims in the United States or even in an Arab country that mocks christianity and Jesus Christ…just one single incident…just one…They dont do that stuff…their beef has never been with christianity. Or are you like that skin head and Pam Gellar and all islamaphobes, too stupid to see that. Nobody here mocks Jesus Christ…they mock the actions of fake christians, like you and if you cant see the difference its because you choose not to.
Is it unreasonable to expect people won’t perform an act they know you find objectionable ON THE GODDAMNED FRONT STEPS OF YOUR PLACE OF WORSHIP! Geez. Christianists bother many people but I rarely read of naysayers taking their objections to the church steps…during services. Fricking people want to have their free speech AND the right to use it in the most brazenly irritating and provocative way possible. Whatever happened to basic good manners and simple decorum?
This fellow wants to hold a “contest” on the steps of a place of worship and the aim is to insult that faith and when members of that faith get angry the perp will point his gun at them and yell “see?!?! I told ya they were bad people!!”
I would say that is asking for trouble. Those Muslims did nothing to him to provoke him. He is operating on his own prejudices.
