Republicans used to fall all over themselves when the subject of taking down the Traitors’ Rag came up. They’d scream, “The people of South Carolina should decide that for themselves!”

Shows Twitter’s importance in 21st century representative government and breaking news now. Members of Congress taking to twitter to publicize late-night underhandedness to get more exposure, response, pushback = good.
(and yes, I first learned about this from twitter, last night, west coast time.)
Well that aint smart. The issue isn’t going to hurt the GOP in the South. No matter which way it ends up…the flag comes down it was Liberal hysteria…the flag stays up…VICTORY!. The Southern GOP’er is on good shape. But what about the others? If the National Congress gets into this…it takes the “South” out of it and replaces it with “republican”…is that wise? Is it wise for GOP’ers in Vermont or Oregon to be tied to that Flag?
Can’t figure this out. Why don’t they just STFU and blame it all on the Liberals?

Exactly. I guess it really is back to if the liberals are for something, damnit, they will be opposed. The confederate flag supporters in places like CA and Oregon are not who you want being the face of your party…
I guess the GOP figured the news cycle for this story would pass and no one would notice the reversal.

One thing we can all agree on: the people in those graves are d-e-a-d. They have no clue what you’re placing on top of them… flags, bird droppings, the occasional wandering dog. So people placing stuff on their graves are doing if for themselves. not the deadee. If that’s true, why not design a headstone w/ whatever symbol you want on it… the Confederate battle flag, a likeness, a religious symbol, a cartoon… who cares.
Just like when they are all for democracy in the middle east, until they vote for the “wrong” party…
But, but, Jesus is watching… So the hate symbols are really for Jesus…
Yeah, because the MSM will cover this with vigor…
