Discussion for article #238960
Good goin’ Hils. Hang that shit right around his neck.
Actual 2016 serious political news. Leading D candidate and Leading (serious) R candidate both speaking…even debating in a sort of disconnected way. Coverage courtesy of C-span. While CNN continues with breathless reporting of a wing part that might be part of a year old plane crash.
I will give Jeb some credit for showing up at such an event. He’ll have to do a lot more than that to win votes from an Urban League crowd, but then he’d probably sound like a Democrat.
If it ain’t a Trump or a barnacled flaperon, fuck it, CNN ain’t interested.
Bingo, Madame Secretary!
Right to Rise
Is that a viagra reference?
That’s a bit more like it. More please. AND LOUDER.
Clinton and Sanders, the only two prominent Democrat juggernaughts, facing the clown bus and with a casino glitz busdriver for all17 rather unstatemenlike, insignificant crazytalking Republican candidates . In essence, in order to gain attention on this Republican candidate clown bus, each one of them has to out-crazytalk the other guys. Basically now they are more a ship of fools going adrift of a sane shoreline than a clown bus crashing up.
Either Clinton or Sanders can beat any of those 17 if an election were held today.
No voter in his or her right mind would vote to destroy Obamacare, phase out medicare, or place greater restrictions on voter opportunity or rights. Nor would any woman in her right mind vote to allow any legislators to decide what medical care a woman can recieve, or what pills a woman can or cannot take. Yet that is what the Republican candidates mostly campaign on…
My favorite CNN anchor!
And of course the Jeb! campaign immediately started whining that she was taking cheap shots. Bush and the other GOP candidates have been attacking Hillary for months now, with their usual classlessness and lies, and when she shoots back on a policy issue they start crying. What a bunch of thin-skinned bullies. (Except for Chris Christie, for whom the phrase thin-skinned must never be used).
“I don’t think you can credibly say that everyone has a right to rise and then say you’re for phasing out Medicare or for repealing Obamacare. People can’t rise if they can’t afford healthcare," she said. “They can’t rise if the minimum wage is too low to live on. They can’t rise if their governor makes it harder for them to get a college education. And you cannot seriously talk about the right to rise and support laws that deny the right to vote.”
Get it, girl! And this is reason # 3,781 why I’m 100% Team HRC!
I appreciate your optimistic outlook, but for me, a proud Menckenian, the operational phrase is “in his or her right mind.” So as my Welsh mum used to say in her most optimistic visions of fatalistic joy: “we’ll hope for the best, but expect the worst.”
Well, that’s such a shame, because it’s the only thing “thin” about him.
Why are democrats so afraid to call out their republican
challengers by name. Republicans aren’t
Apparently so, rumors have it that they tried out “Equality in Elevation” and “Self-determination to Spurt” on the Focus Group first, with less than enthusiastic results.
This was a very good response from Hillary, even if it was a friendlier audience to a Democratic nominee than a Republican one.
Surprised the O’Keefes of this world haven’t tried to take down the Urban League with illegal taping and edited bullshit like they have ACORN, and have desperately gone out of their way smearing Planned Parenthood. Hillary stood up Planned Parenthood at least the other day.
I’m still awaiting Hillary’s response on the Keystone Pipeline over the Ogallala Aquifer. Her response the other day was guarded. Her excuse for not directly responding was perplexing to me too. Perhaps it will be moot by the time she takes office, but she still should have offered more than what I heard her say. Many environmentalists and people like myself concerned about what we’re doing to the planet, but more directly in our own backyard, expect her to say unequivocally what she’ll do for the families of future generations in protecting the air, land and water here. I don’t want pablum about concern for her own grandchild…and then no commitment offered on standing up for real conservation. I’d like to see her take on the fossil fuel companies since they are at the heart of the problem.

Simple, articulate, and powerful messaging.
Of course, our nation’s insider clique of very-serious political “journalists” will maintain radio silence on it – because it utterly fails to push the Scooby Van narrative.
(And BTW, she did not confront Jeb!? “on about” anything; nor do Americans deserve leaders who will face “in equality”. They do, however, deserve writers who will face copy editing.)
That’s a cheap shot regarding voting rights.
¡JEB! is an ardent supporter of every corporate dollar’s inherent right to vote.
I keep saying this all the nay sayers are gonna nay about Hillary until they show me someone better , which is not happening anywhere I’ll crawl to the polls to vote for her womens rights and the Supreme Court are enough for me and a Woman President ITS ABOUT TIME!!!
