I adore Gene Robinson. Anyone who has watched him on Hardball or any other show knows he’s a genuinely good and very thoughtful person who goes out of his way to avoid nasty exchanges. He’s also very reluctant to call something racist unless he sees it as blatant. So, Robinson saying these things is pretty remarkable. And I don’t think this is going over well for the GOP, and certainly not for Giuliani. I’m sure Mr. Married Three Times and My Kids Don’t Talk to Me thought this would be a hit with the wingnuts and no one would call him on it. Too bad, so sad.

He is a good and decent person Plucky but far too timid and mild. Why he continues to go on Joe Scar almost weekly and say nothing is beyond me. I like Gene but he is way too timid for my taste.
Gene Robinson spends far too much time on Joe Scar. I like and respect Gene R - he’s a good guy but like Howard Dean, afraid to upset the status quo but I give hi props on this one

Gene Robinson is not your confrontational type. He’s way too smart and savvy to need a shouting match to get his point across. I love it when his logic simply wipes the other guy’s legs out from under him. And then he smiles. Love it.

Giuliani’s former spokesman and Eugene Robinson was with Steve Kornacki who was guest hosting for Matthews on Hardball. Both of them were taking potshots at Giuliani with Robinson being slightly kinder than the spokesman.
