Discussion: South Dakota GOP Guv Vetoes Bill To Restrict Trans Students' Bathroom Use

Discussion for article #246709

South Dakota has had an uneven day.

one senator says kkk support is better than Bernie or Hillary.

then the governor tries to redeem them a bit…

the 4 men on that mountain would be proud…

aw jeez … there’s no “men on that mountain”. If that’s what it was, if it were up to me, I’d want to dump the two slave owners, certainly the rapey dude, and take a hard re-look at Teddy’s move towards bigotty central in this second term (If there’s only to be one depiction of a Roosevelt up there, I’d want it to be at least of the correct Roosevelt).

I think there’s folks that think it’s some sort of ‘God done’r wid lighnin’ phenomenon, rather than a highly eccentric, albeit dream-filled, immigrant.

Good! Maybe reasonable Republicans can reconstitute an honorable party from the ashes of its impending immolation.

Fingering the odd dyke way off in the boonies is probably as far as they can stretch that.

What I find remarkable is that people in these States have no fear with sitting in a stall where the person next to you may be packing a weapon. But god forbid that person might have an out-of-place pee-pee!

Wow! A positive sign. Thank you, Gov. Daugaard.

An example of a conservative listening and activist sharing. Seeing people, even people who make you uncomfortable, as people – as individuals – is difficult. That a GOPer did it is impressive, and should not be dismissed.

“An earlier report published in April 2011 by the
Williams Institute estimated that 3.8 percent of Americans identified as
gay/lesbian, bisexual, or transgender: 1.7 percent as lesbian or gay,
1.8 percent as bisexual, and 0.3 percent as transgender.”

All this concern over 0.3%?

I’m not sure if you’re replying to someone, or what you mean, but I “liked” that comment solely for its weirdness

Not happening

That cliff is still waiting on em.

… those who expect to share restrooms or locker rooms only with people born with the same anatomy.

The only thing I “expect” when using the restroom is to relieve myself and wash my hands.

These people are dangerously crazy and stupid. And also they seem to be unaware of the existence of f2m transexual people. Because otherwise they would be asking themselves why it was a good idea to bar women who weren’t born that way from women’s restrooms by means of a law that required some men to use women’s restrooms.
