He’s gonna need a bigger shovel.

Oh yes. Exactly the same as the KKK. Why I remember all the burning crosses and white people hanging from trees surrounded by a horde of smiling black folks. Don’t you?

NC sheriff kinda says it all but I wasn’t aware fee-fees would dominate the boxy head of one…

Really sheriff? Who did the NAACP lynch?

"I feel like that (NAACP) is a racist group, as well as the KKK.
~Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright

So stupid, it hurts.

Chuck needs to stuff those feelings deep down inside and keep them there for the duration of his existence.

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright recently came under fire for
saying that the “most racist people in American right now sometimes are
minorities.”

He’s close–the most racist people in America (whites) are BECOMING minorities.

Sheriff Wright was getting concerned that North Carolina was starting to get all the attention. He’s just reminding us that you always go South for REAL ugly!

A South Carolina sheriff who lumped the NAACP and Ku Klux Klan together as “racist” groups told the Spartanburg Herald-Journal that his words were being taken “way out of context” in a Thursday interview.

Sounds to me that’s the entire context…

’ I don’t get into the NAACP or the KKK or any other group of people that doesn’t like somebody because of their color. ’ This might be a noble sentiment if you knew exactly what each organization DID and if it was ‘true’ that they both didn’t like people because of their COLOR.

I would add “…upside the head.”

Pretty meaningful coming from a SC sheriff. Probably with white sheets hanging neatly in his closet.

Nice post-racial society you got there. Shame if someone should happen to it.

Here’s a man who hasn’t caught up yet, who feels embattled by the social changes around him, and who hasn’t really the capacity to manage it all. It’s almost sad because in his world view everything he says makes sense and yet he’s being called to task for it - he’s just so clueless and I’d bet he even feels that way on some days. I don’t know how you help people like this see past what they know so firmly - or do you just wait for them to die off, hoping they don’t do too much harm in the process.

Too fucking stupid for words.

My head hurts from the stupid.

And brown shirts in his dresser drawer.

The NAACP certainly gets points for non-violence and good work, but you could hardly call the “National Association for the Advancement of Colored People” a color-blind organization. Somehow they’re OK, and a similar organization called the “National Association for the Advancement of White People” would be unthinkable.

He doesn’t seem to realize his head was outside the right wing thought bubble when he said that.
