Discussion: ‘So-Called Notes’ From WH Aides Proved Frequent Sources For Mueller Report

That photo looks like Vichy France to me. Except one thing:

For these people, they are doing this willingly.

Many in Vichy were willing

Money and fame. Those are the drivers.
In other admins it was service for the greater good.

Mussolini didn’t like note takers either…

Another reason to hold hearings throughout 2019 and an impeachment inquiry: it keeps Trumpers from doing things to bend or break the law. It’s clear from the Mueller Report that many folks didn’t do things for Trump because they knew they would get in trouble. Do more hearings and impeachment and you might prevent Trump from being able to execute on his worst impulses.

Get him on tape, will ya? Bet he loves that.

Stands to reason that the semi-literate nincompoop would be suspicious of those who can listen and write at the same time.

Oliver nails it in the first minute of his report! The minutes that follow after are also good, just not as good as that first minute.

I also like folks that don’t tell what I do or don’t do behind closed doors.

It’s perfectly acceptable if Putin has someone take notes while meeting with Trump. He can be trusted. It’s our own White House personnel taking notes Trump worries about.

Am betting Trump’s usual paranoia is now spiking through the roof. Although there were stories from Woodward’s book Fear that aides were trying to undermine some of his (worst) decisions/impulses, after a few denials he seemed to move on to other public grievances. With Mueller’s report it is all back with an amped up vengeance. I imagine it will get easier for those aides that remain to just give in to the wrath of Trump.

The counter pressure of being watched closely by Congress via hearings (as wasn’t done in the first two - GOP held years) might help counter Trumps pressure to do the wrong thing.

I know they chose it, and they are doing awful things to this country, but on a human note I can’t help but feel that it must be a veritable hell to work in Trump’s White House.

In the Trump administration, staffers tend to disregard those concerns in favor of self-protection, worried that the President will abruptly change his mind and contradict things that he previously said, possibly endangering the careers — and legal safety — of involved aides.

Why would anyone worry about the President changing his mind? It’s as predictable as the sunrise.

Wasted empathy.

Nothing will pressure him to do the right thing. He’ll just become more insufferable to his aides and demand they don’t take notes. Could they record him surreptitiously?

Notes? – We don’t need no stinking Notes.

When you have one of the ‘great memories’ of all time notes are just a distraction
