I read in Democracy in Chains how Harry Byrd managed to stay in power for something like 40 years with the support of only 10% of the Virginia electorate. From that lofty position, Byrd had a stranglehold on the national agenda.
I really wonder how small is the perch from which McConnell picks at the corpse of democracy. How few minds must be changed to remove him from the national stage? How few local bosses must be wooed away? How few co-conspirators must be flipped? How few prosecutors need a shred of evidence or a witness to end his political career?
Leaving the affront to Mr. Wyatt aside, and the illegal confiscation of his life’s word and his business brand name (as important as Donald’s) McConnell, as a leader of the Republican Party, considers the people in this country to be mere toys for his amusement.
We pay taxes. We live in neighborhoods attacked by crime. We follow the law.
You don’t. Oh sure, you’ve got the best legal minds assuring you that your actions are completely defensible, and that means legal. No, it doesn’t.

So McConnell responds to the request of a real person/actor demanding he stop using his image by posting a fictional story about the character played by the actor in order to discredit him. Further proof that McConnell really doesn’t care about truth versus fiction. Scott’s response was perfect - that picture of a smiling McConnell posed in front of the Confederate flag is not fictional; it’s as real as it gets.
Isn’t it amazing how liberals almost always are quicker and better with the witty zingers? I’m serious about that.
