Hey moron, the Feds have already been investigating, Trump was just blabbering about something that was already done by someone else, as usual. And now not only will the Feds be investigating mail fraud and such, but also how your client “skated” due to wealth privilege and political connections.
Smollett’s attorneys really, really need to STFU. If you’re going to make something up, be sure that it helps.
DOJ was already investigating, Trump is just blabbering. And they are investigating mail fraud, a federal offense.
Also, that idiot Ashley Todd confessed after only two days, so minimal resources were wasted. She was sent to jail, then agreed to a deal to seek psychiatric help, etc. And her false report of a crime was a local offense, not a federal offense. So Obama’s DOJ was not involved anyway. In the Smollett case, mail fraud is a federal offense.
But the biggest difference is that this asshole is still claiming he is innocent and was actually attacked. And his attorney is claiming the feds need to find the real perps, and is saying that Law Enforcement people are to blame and should be investigated! This is effing arrogant lunacy.
Odd that an actor wouldn’t recognize that a plot with that many holes would never sell.
That’s almost the worst set of deals ever.
Remember that it’s one thing for a private citizen to claim innocence (whether or not s/he is) but it is a completely different thing for a lawyer to publicly request a federal investigation into a client’s case. There are only a few possible scenarios here:
- Smollett is guilty and has fooled his lawyer into believing he is innocent. Very bad for Smollett.
- Smollett is guilty and his lawyer knows he’s guilty. Very bad for Smollet and not so great for his lawyer.
- Smollett is innocent. Very bad for the city of Chicago.
I have no idea what is going on with this case. After the charges were filed, I assumed they had the goods on Smollett. But now the charges are dropped and his lawyer wants an FBI probe? Hmm…
Somewhere in the recesses of the sick hate filled bastard Trump’s brain there remains a burning desire to settle a score with Obama - never mind that it relates to a bunch of crap that trump created all by himself - that is the way for Trump - he decides to lash out at somebody like a bully … it fails … Trump the holds a personal grudge against the person that he tried (and failed) to bully - classic psychotic demonizing behavior - to validate his attempt to bully / attack - he has to demonize the person - this also applies to anyone who held him accountable - guarantee you that every teacher / professor that ever gave Trump an F or D or C - for doing genuinely poor work - every one of them , in Trump’s mind - fact be damned - they are pure evil - bad people - just the worst!
So Trump is now locked into an idiotic quest to permanently discredit Obama (also - classic Trump - make yourself look better by tearing down other around you) Trump fantasizes about assembling enough crap, lies and discrediting fabrication that he could push the idea that those 8 years represent a period of an entirely illegitimate Presidency - one that should have a giant asterisks in - if not total erasure from - the history books … plus he knows that this is raw filet mignon to his racist base - nothing would warm their evil souls more than a total discrediting and purging of the record of the only black President in US history.
