Discussion: Simpson: Page "A Typical Person Who The Russians Would Attempt To Co-Opt"

Simpson’s analysis is logical, but all you have to do is look at Carter Page to know he’s the kind of guy the Russians would want to chat up. He has ā€œuse meā€ written all over him.

Well, that’s really kinky

Cater’s defence seems to be ā€˜I’m an idiot. What harm could I do?’ I’d have to agree with him.

Translation: simpleton.

Simpson cited what he described as Page’s youth, his ambition, and his naĆÆvetĆ© as three reasons the Kremlin would have targeted Page, an energy consultant who served as a foreign policy advisor to the Trump campaign.

Except for youthful, this also describes Trump. Beyond NY real estate, he doesn’t seem to have much actual knowledge of the world and seemingly functions as an idiot-savant. And also as an useful idiot for Putin.

ā€œMost spies are Fredos."

As opposed to Carter Page who’s, like, really smart.

But … but … but … he has ā€œSmartest Guy in the Roomā€ printed on his business card.

I’ve mentioned this before. I’m convinced there are only two reasons Cockholster isn’t destitute and living on the streets of Manhattan: 1) personal loans from his family to stave off personal bankruptcy, and 2) that he didn’t actually have a hand in running his businesses again until the Russians came through with enough dirty money to keep his ass afloat. Indeed, as his businesses descended into the multiple sinkholes of self-created bankruptcies it was the bankers — in ever more desperate attempts to recoup their losses — who were running the show. They just kept Dotard Don around to maintain an impression that the businesses weren’t as toxic as they actually were.

Spoiler alert: Despite their best efforts the banks never got all their money back.

I’m not quite certain that’s true. Douche Bank may just see Widdle Donnie Two-Scoops as a ā€œlost leader.ā€ Since they make a significant cut on all the change that shakes loose in the laundry, they are probably doing okay. the ā€œTrumpā€ name and licencing deals have been a useful cover for them and their ā€œout-of-townā€ clients for some years now.

This story, for example, shows that he’s been at this for the better part of three decades, now. Hell, I would not be surprised if the bankruptcies were an intentional part of the scam, and that everybody involved was on-board with it.

Wait, the ā€œexā€ CIA guy is named John Sipher (Cypher)? Is that for real?

Trump is the typical person who the Russians would attempt to co-opt or compromise or manipulate,ā€
correction: Did Manipulate and probably still are.

He was alone when he printed it.

Rhetorical question?

Almost by virtue of being nobodies, people like Page have enormous access to information. Why wouldn’t you tell him things? It’s not as if he seems bright enough to use any classified information he’s given.

All the Russians would have to offer Page was a gerbil!
