This is completely stupid for the Republicans to do, because they have several candidates on the edge and the last thing they need is to give them a push off the cliff. Shutting down the government by not giving funding to black kids who have been poisoned by lead makes them look like horrible people and will link them to the racists pushing Trump. It’s not even that much funding.

Not that I’m complaining, the more seats the Democrats win the better. I’m just amazed that the Republicans could be this incompetent so close to the election.

If there is a government shutdown it will be viewed as the Republicans fault which could affect the elections. Let’s go for a government shutdown folks. Make the GOP choke on it.

Playing partisan politics with the lives of the poor…nice one GOP. If i was a dem i wouldn’t assume that the House will fund it either

Your move, McConnell. And lest we forget, ā€œthat bringing our country to the brink…for good election-year politicsā€¦ā€ is a GOP speciality! More projection from the Party of No. Disgusting, one might say ā€œdeplorableā€.

P.S. He must have forgotten about this:

There were 13 Republicans who voted to block the legislation.

ā€œā€œIt’s almost as if a few Democratic leaders decided long ago that
bringing our country to the brink would make for good election-year
politics, and then they’ve just made up the rationale as they go,ā€
McConnell charged on the Senate floor Tuesday."

Project much, Yurtle?

All you have to do is beat the hell out of them with it again and again and again and again and watch them lose the midterms in 2018 as the Incompetent Party. You are seeing the groundwork laid for it now.

Freedom Caucus peeps don’t do that whole strategery thing all too good.

No plan? Of course they have a plan, it just screws too many U.S. citizens.

a crazy connection in waiting for the outcome of last night’s debate? but playing with the lives of children in Flint? sort of scary as well as having a whisper of racism to it…

The Repubs are having a tantrum because they know TrumptheTroll isn’t going to be elected .

I have seen this film before. I will be surprised if they don’t get something done by Friday.

ā€œIt’s almost as if a few REPUBLICAN leaders decided long ago that bringing our country to the brink would make for good election-year politics, and then they’ve just made up the rationale as they go," McConnell copped to on the Senate floor Tuesday.

McConnell has argued that a water resources bill already passed the Senate and it included funding for Flint.

Then all McConnell need to is to expend some of his Septuagenarian Mutant Redneck Turtle powers (or perhaps just Copy and Paste) the same language from the still un-passed Water Resources bill into the CR.

Easy Peasy. No extra monies would be allocated; supposedly real people would be helped.

So what’s the deal? Doesn’t Mitch want to be known as SMRT??

Do you think these guys are just trying to get some attention since the media is so obsessed with Donald Trump that they are beginning to feel irrelevant?

Dems should filibuster this CR until the Rs agree to hold hearings on Merrick Garland.

Yeah Mitch, how’s that shoe feel…now that it’s on the other foot?

Lol, it looks like what went around is coming back around…
