You know how bad this administration is? It’s so bad and so corrupt that Shulkin’s claims of being set up are almost plausible. trump’s cronies would be thrilled to get their hands on the VA’s pot of money, and destroying its current administration would be a perfect way to do it.

My first husband had a boss who always hired people from within the organization who were about to be fired (hubby predated this guy, i.e., not a loser about to be fired). Because he’d saved their asses, and because they were afraid that if they left his group they’d likely get fired, they stayed and were 150% loyal to him, grovelling and doing anything he’d ask them to. TwoScoops just bought Shulkin’s willingness to bow down to his every wish (see: Sessions, Kelly).

(The end of the above anecdote is this: my hubby left the dept in disgust, and because the guy hired loyal losers, the dept eventually went belly up and they all got fired anyway. Except the boss — who got a lateral arabesque to some rinkydink job in a watering hole in the middle of nowhere to while out his days. Karma can be such a bitch.)

Schulkin called a VA leadership department meeting on Tuesday to reiterate that people who “hijack” the VA agenda won’t be tolerated.

Then, under this criteria, he promptly resigned.
