The right wing has lost its mind completely. This is why I’ll happily vote Democratic every election. We simply cannot allow these people to take over the country. They’re paranoid, heavily armed, and represent a sizable chunk of the GOP right now.

There is a big difference between shots fired near and shot fired at. At this point I don’t have any confidence in TPM’s reporting.

‘At’ is ambiguous in its use in the title (and I can see your interpretation), but there’s no question that the authorities are treating this as a case where someone is targeting or trying to intimidate the base personnel.

Yes, there is a big difference between the two. If they are just being rednecks and shooting in the air, they should be arrested. If they are actually shooting at troops, fire should be returned at them.

Some serious rednecks out there representing Alex Jones, these people are a trip. And now we have the story where the three stooges were trying to dupe the military into an ambush. Just effing hysterical, while also pathetic.

Smith is the local sheriff on the case. Never mind that hunting season is typically in the fall, and as a LEO, he should know that. Its just accidental guns going off, and all those yankee soldiers getting a case of the jitters.

Lord, I hope the military DOESN’T fire back. Can you imagine the uproar from all the nutjobs out there that would use the shootings as an excuse to go on an all-out rampage?

Whatever happened to supporting the troops?? I guess that only applies when not within the boundaries of the United States.

If not doing so already, they need to treat their encampments as if they were in a combat zone - perimeter sentries and trip wires (“Zips in the wire” to quote an old movie) and, as I stated yesterday, light 'em up when spotted.

That would be exactly what this nuts want. US military opening fire on US citizens? That would be an unmitigated disaster of epic proportions.

Go back and look at the outrage the extreme right tossed out there over Waco and Ruby Ridge. It would be off the scale if military personnel shot and killed someone. Particularly as part of this Jade Helm exercise.

In fact, my guess is, this is going to be someone working on a self fulfilling prophecy.
