Discussion: Shooting At Quebec City Mosque Leaves 6 Dead

Canada’s prime minister called an act of terrorism.

In America we’d have called it good 'ol boys blowing off steam.

Well how could that be a Terrorist Attack? The only Muslims involved we Victims, white people (even French-Canadians) can’t be Terrorists :anguished:

(in case it wasn’t obvious, the above was Sarcasm, or simply me thinking like a GOPTroll)

I’m surprised there hasn’t (yet) been a tweet from the twit-in-chief about how this justifies his “Not-a-Muslim-Ban” Muslim ban.

Does anyone know where Darth Bannon was at the time?

Also, if the mosque terrorists came from Canada, does that mean Cheeto Jebus is gonna shut down that border too?

If these were in fact Trump inspired haters, they should be sent to Guantanamo.

What is Trump going to do about our porous border with Quebec?

And this is what you get when you have religious crazies with guns. Oh, wait.

The new US export…hate crimes and terrorism…

wait, does this mean that Canada can now ban people from the US from visiting unless they undergo “extreme vetting” including questions like “do you like Queen Elizabeth?”

We don’t know who the killers are yet, but one topic that will likely attract attention is the corrupting influence of putrid right wing radio jocks in the Quebec City area. Commonly known as “radio poubelle” (garbage radio), these Limbaugh-inspired talk radio shows have existed there and have been decried for years.

Send Trump inspired terrorists to Gitmo and don’t let them back ever!

Here’s the fruit of their old wish: As it is in France, so it is in Quebec. Maybe the true measure of Egalitarianism in the French sense is that Muslims and non-Muslims alike are targeted by violent extremists. Fear for all.

I’ve been seeing lots of self-congratulatory tweets this morning saying how Trump is smiling about being right.

It’s going to be interesting when the perpetrators turn out to be Quebec separatists or some other form of Canadian RWNJ.

CBC reports that the two men arrested for the killings are Alexandre Bissonnette and…

[ETA: Name of 2nd person redacted. He is NOT considered a suspect, but was a regular attendee of the mosque. Why it was released in the first place, who knows.]

This is still terrorism, this is still murder, but it’s going to become very cloudy in terms of motives.

And now we see a stark example of the difference between a thoughtful, compassionate statesman and the insecure, narcissistic, venal, racist laughingstock who is, tragically, POTUS.

Wishing peace for the victims’ souls and comfort for their loved ones.

Perhaps. We should remember, the most common victims of “Islamic extremist” terrorism are other Muslims who are deemed insufficiently devoted or otherwise do not conform to the terrorists’ beliefs. Trump, Bannon, Flynn and their ilk ignore that fact.

We don’t know and we should all hold off speculating as to motive. It’s a horrible tragedy regardless of the supposed “reason”. Certainly, increased security at mosques is a necessary step.

OK, CBC now says only one suspect, a Quebecois Trump sympathizer. The other guy arrested is a witness.

Viruses spread unless the immune system is able to contain them…

Added to the Texas mosque burning Saturday night, it certainly predicts a new behavioral norm.

Can we ban Trump from entering the US?
