Discussion for article #243240
āWe donāt have any information on this individualās mentality, or his
ideas or ideology,ā Colorado Springs police Lt. Catherine Buckley told
reporters.
ā¦
Other than heās crazy.
why wonāt you use the words āpro-life terroristā? If we refuse to name the enemy, we cannot defeat it.

I sincerely believe that this would never have happened if the Republican party hadnāt demonized Planned Parenthood, thereby putting a big fat target on the backs of the organizationās employees. The GOP is totally responsible for anti-Planned Parenthood madness generally and this attack in particular. Unlike ISIS, they donāt have the balls to take credit for their mayhem.
Operation Rescue is fundamentally evil.
Good read in The Guardian - "Colorado Springs: a playground for pro-life, pro-gun Evangelical Christians "
Jesus Christ - that face!!
Why am I reminded of Faux Entertainment Channelās OāReilly and his constant refrain of āDr. Tiller, baby killerā that ended when Dr. Tiller was shot dead in church.
From wiki:
Operation Save America (formerly Operation Rescue National) is a fundamentalist Christian conservative organization based in Concord, North Carolina,
The shooter is from NCā¦lets see where this goes.
Message to the Republicans: sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.
Every sensible person in this country could have predicted domestic terrorism based on the GOTP hysteria about Planned Parenthood. Looks like Carly managed to harvest at least one gun nutās brain. Hate speech incites hate which incites hateful behavior. Itās a no-brainer, Carly.
There is nothing PRO-LIFE about some psychotic terrorist who tries to kill people? Especially people who have done him no harm!
Itās time to let the boys and girls in the FBI loose and to dig up the worms who encouraged the shooter.
Operation Rescue is a hate group and a terrorist group.
āForced birtherā is a better description for most of those people that like to call themselves āpro-lifeā. Even āanti-choiceā is a far better description.
My guess about how the media will continue by and large to report on this going forward is to use wiggle-words like āthe shooter tried to instill fearā or he āterrorizedā the people at the clinic. But to go all out and call him the terrorist that he isā¦thatās probably going to be relegated to reports by those weāre already familiar with on the left, that know how to call this for what it is.
Cable news and the like will continue to avoid using the term ādomestic terroristā or āterroristā so as not to offend the political sensibilities of those in the āpro-lifeā camp. Theyād just as well go on to talk about the manās mental state as being crazy, as they tend to do with all mass murderers these days. And the fact that it took place at a Planned Parenthood will be the reason this primarily doesnāt stay in the news longer than a few days Iām bettingā¦or at least not much past the time of this guyās arraignment on Monday.
The shooter is a white, proud American male, owner of guns. He killed in the name of his religious belief, but, hey, he is no domestic terrorist.
Thousands of women rely on Planned Parenthood for annual screenings, medical treatment and medications at a low cost or free for them.
If you want to support Planned Parenthood, (register to) VOTE -
NEVER elect someone against health care for women; and who doesnāt understand he doesnāt have a say on what women do with their bodies.
Since he intentionally killed people, he canāt be pro-life. He must be one of those Christianist terrorists.
Other than the clear truth that any murderer can be considered crazy, I wouldnāt be so quick to adopt the meme the media uses to explain away Christianic terrorism. Itās true that we donāt know if thatās the case here, but I suspect even if it were the case, we wonāt ever find out and heāll be described as crazy.
The only silver lining is this terrorist killed an anti-choice cop, so heās not as likely to walk on a hung jury for CO Springs as he would have been otherwise.
