Shocking video shows asshole student getting manhandled
Sorry, but that’s assault. Totally uncalled for. I’m sure he was angry for having to deal with another one of those again and needed to show who was boss. But…that’s not how things are supposed to work. Just because someone refuses to follow orders doesn’t give police an excuse to use physical violence to punish non-compliance.
And yet…of course the sheriff didn’t see anything wrong in the video. If any citizen did what he did, they’d be in jail. And if a citizen did that to a cop, they’d likely be dead. But if a cop does it, that’s just the benefits of wearing a badge, since they’re allowed to use any means necessary to force compliance. Disgusting. The sooner these people realize that what they’re doing is wrong, the better things will be for the good cops…whoever they are.
Don’t really care the situation-- one is an adult, one is a kid.
This officer needs to be in another line of work-- if this is his bedside manner dealing with kids.

I hope you don’t have school-aged kids, and I feel very, very sorry for them if you do. IMO any parent who lets their kids go to a school with that type of aggressive moron working there should be investigated for abuse.
Don’t know the income bracket here for the kids’ parents, but if it is lower middle class/poverty… then it is not like they have a lot of choices.
Maybe you should watch the second video. There was no action or raised voice that justifies the way that officer assaulted the young woman.
It reminds me of that clip from The West Wing where an Italian diplomat tells the story about a daughter who misbehaves and is beaten by her father, ending with the question, “Is there anything that girl could have done to justify her father’s behavior?”
Cops don’t understand why the public is so angry over these “rare” videos. This has to stop.
This is vile, and what is beyond horrible is how silent the other kids are. Don’t speak up lest you be knocked down. Look how worried the kid was just taking the 2nd video… he hid it away for a while.
Edit… Can’t get this out of my head. Have you noticed how we have thrown administration to the police in schools? This girl is getting a record and arrested for “disturbing the class”. A record!! When I was a kid, the worst of it was detention or -gasp- suspension. Why the fuck does this go immediately to a criminal offense?
Why the hell are there police officers in the school for an unruly kid? Is this normal now?
You watch who recorded the video is gonna get charged.
These are the people the NRA wants to arm to the teeth.
What do expect when you give them jackboots?
When you’re in SC and trying to figure out ways of giving the black kids arrest records, sure it is. Why tell them 'go to the principal’s office" or send them home with a note for being disruptive when you can instead have some overbearing white roid-rager cart them off to be booked? Yeah…try competing for the summer job Little Johnny Wonderbread is entitled to now, Shaniqua…

I believe most high schools have permanent on-duty police officers. I know my small town high school now does.
The video then shows the student resisting and being arrested.
Hmm. Where was the officer at the time?
The student may have resisted arrest, but she didn’t resist being thrown across the room.
Who is the man int he white shirt ? A teacher just looking on ? Both he and the cop should be fired and sued.
I know it makes you feel like a tough guy saying that, and you probably feel real edgy and cool and all that, but there’s nothing in this video that shows any justification for how the cop is handling this situation. Do you just enjoy watching grown men beat up high school girls?
This is just disgusting. And I think the headline is misleading. This girl isn’t dragged. She is thrown. Disgusting.
LEOs and their superiors and supporters, citing the “rarity” of these events, bemoan everything getting blown out of proportion. And yet it continues.
Similarly, Josh, is the story about the FBI director blaming an increase in violent crime on increased scrutiny of law enforcement not worthy of a story?
Noticed that immediately. Even the teacher stood back? Um, what?!
