Discussion for article #231140

Good. I’m sure we can count on him to speak out and speak often on behalf of the American people.

Plus he’ll be better ready to take chair position when the Dems return to having control over the Senate’s agenda after the 2016 elections.

And he’ll be needed there, given the likely policy positions on the financial industry of the incoming Clinton administration.

And can we stop labeling him a ā€˜populist’, a dismissive word beloved of the MSM?

Agree, he’s a good pick.

Which is why selecting him for this seat now is quite interesting. It obviously isn’t a Clinton influenced pick.

I hope you’re right about Democrats regaining Senate control in 2016.

Hillary doesn’t really have any influence in the Senate any more.

There are 24 Republican Senators up for re-election in 2016, and only 10 Democrats.

A number of the GOP group are in danger of losing already—Toomey, Ayotte, and Johnson—come to mind, and there will be others.

The Clinton’s have all sorts of influence within the Democratic party. Not saying the control it, obviously they don’t. But they certainly aren’t without very willing friends.

They have a kind of influence, but not in the Senate when it comes to who does what on which committee.

Reid is not all that fond of Hillary, although he’d deny it if asked.

Any ā€œ-istā€ or ā€œ-ismā€ is an attempt to brand and marginalize. Cool call, Nemo!

A little bit of good news to end an absolutely abysmal week!
