Discussion: Sheriff: No Signs Of Trauma On Prince’s Body, ‘No Reason To Believe’ Death Was Suicide

I loved the guys music, but the current scuttlebutt is that he died of Botulism poisoning from a botched Botox treatment.

When you’re citing TMZ as a source, you’ve fallen a long, long way as a news site.

I’m guessing it was his heart. He apparently just had the flu, and influenza can be very dangerous if someone has cardiac issues.

Like it or not TMZ is really good at getting to facts. Whether or not we really need these facts is another question entirely.

edit: I don’t really think we do and I’m not sure why Prince’s death is being reported so breathlessly here when we could easily go to TMZ for this information.

Where are you hearing this? Links?

It would be extremely unusual since botox treatment use such small amounts.

There are all kinds of rumors floating around. The usual suspects are claiming he had a prescription addiction. On the other hand, people who knew him are on the record saying he definitely wasn’t a druggy. I think we need to wait until we get the final report. I will give this the benefit of the doubt until I read something concrete.

Well on Fax News now they are speculating he died of an Oxycontin overdose

Lonnie Mack died yesterday, too. Scarcely a mention of that anywhere, because it’s All Prince, All the Time. Pity.

Oxycontin deadly, wow, how come Rush is still alive?

His hips and knees had to be hurting. We’ve all seen his wonderful dance moves, especially the splits. How many times over the last 30+ years has he done that? In the 80’s I was of the age that I could (sort of) do that. At 52, it hurts just watching it.

Scuttlebutt?! There’s only one butt, and that’s the butt who spreads around unconfirmed stable droppings.

Flu-like symptoms can mask so many things … respiratory infection, sepsis, etc. No need to guess. It will be known, and if it’s tomorrow or weeks from now, it doesn’t change a damned thing.

I’m all in to celebrate the musical genius and the kind humanitarian for now. How his life ended does not change the life he lived.

So gracious of you. And that ‘concrete’ changes what?

Sincerely sorry, but I don’t know who Lonnie Mack is.

Please share.

Too many musicians dying this year. I think I’ll quit practicing with my banjo for a while.

I am pretty sure TMZ has it pretty much right. Say what you will about them, but they broke the news of his death long before any other news source: https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/tmz-was-first--again-will-their-word-alone-ever-be-good-enough-for-traditional-media/2016/04/22/822613ae-0805-11e6-bdcb-0133da18418d_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-more-top-stories_tmz-1220pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory
From TMZ:

Prince had OD’d on Percocet days before his death, and he ingested so much, EMTs had to administer a “save shot” at the airport where his plane made an emergency landing to save his life.

Sources in Moline, Illinois tell TMZ, Prince’s entourage told responders he had taken the painkiller after his Atlanta concert which triggered the emergency.

Percocet is a painkiller which contains a combination of acetaminophen and oxycodone, an opioid. It is highly addictive.

We’re told Prince was taking painkillers for a hip problem. We’re told he had corrective surgery for his hips around 2010.
As we reported, Prince went to his local Walgreens 4 times in the week leading up to his death. We got a photo of Prince in the parking lot of the Walgreens hours before he died. Witnesses say he was pacing and agitated, waiting for someone to bring out his meds.

Yes,they do have the photo of Prince in a parking lot next to a black Escalade. Prince: Percocet Triggered OD Days Before Death

Thank you for the link. My knowledge of music and its history can be so superficial.

Set the banjo aside until things are clearer … we need you hear… err … here!

Amen.
