Discussion: Sheriff: 5 People Dead In 2 Shootings In Georgia

What a dilemma for a ā€œgood guy with a gunā€. If he’s going to shoot himself he’s a bad guy by definition. So a good guy would be placed in a tough spot. To stop the bad guy with a gun from shooting himself the good guy would have to do it for him. This needs work.

This needs a wall-sized flowchart, I think, or perhaps a multi-dimensional truth table.

Yesterday Ohio, today Georgia. Anbody;s guess what state is next. This is beyond pathetic

It does. I mean…he was a bad guy with a gun when he killed those innocent people but did he end up a good guy with a gun when he killed himself for it? So terribly confusing.

If there was only one gun at the scene then who had it? If it was the good guy then he killed an unarmed man, but if it was the bad guy then the good guy with a gun failed to appear. Thanks, Richard.

… and if he had been armed before shooting those other people, he could have been the good guy with a gun who could have stopped the bad guy with a gun (himself). But … wait a second … he was armed … which means he was the good guy … Well, at any rate, all I know is that four of the people he killed were women, so they couldn’t have been good guys.

We are very sick people.

An occasional mass shooting is just part of the price of freedum.

2nd amendment remedies? Kind of goes against the accepted meaning of remedy.

And ā€˜gun wrongs’ are outweighing gun rights. We are smart enough to realize this and smart enough to amend what needs amending, hence the 2nd amendment and the Bill of Rights.
Unfortunately, smarts isn’t getting it done. Lack of political backbone and the love of money are winning this battle.

Shooting the cowards and cash whores may be the remedy to the remedy. It is the freedom to shoot and to be shot by a shooter.
Let this free flowing gun barrage be the solution as well as the problem.

You could publish the profits of firearms makers, except you can’t in many cases – most gunmakers are privately held. Interestingly, with accessories the cost model isn’t that different from an Apple commodity fetish such as an iPhone 6, i.e. below the price point that would trigger investigation in the case of loss or theft and in many cases the filing of insurance claims.

$525 – Glock 19 Handgun, extra magazine, gun lock, cleaning kit
$56 – 200 rounds of 9mm brass FMJ practice ammunition
$46 – 40 rounds of 9mm JHP self defense ammunition
$10 – Eye protection
$20 – Hearing protection
$10 – Cleaning supplies (Patches, oil, and solvent)

Subtotal – $667
7% Sales Tax – $47
Grand Total – $714

Hey, now, freedom ain’t free! The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed frequently with the blood of innocents. History proves conclusively that it’s impossible to have a free, democratic society without a heavily armed citizenry, so the only alternative is tyranny. Also, it is too soon after this tragedy to talk about this. Shameful to politicize it, shameful, I say. And anyway, guns are no more dangerous than cars, hammers or swimming pools.

Just keep in mind that if spoons don’t kill people, people with spoons can’t tread on my Second Commandment because men with swords will rule those who beat their swords into guns that don’t kill people. Or some such concatenation of nonsense the NRA hires merchandisers to write.

But guns don’t kill people. They do make it possible for people to kill more people quickly and efficiently.

Lauren Hawes told The Associated Press Saturday that she and her
1-year-old daughter hid in a neighbor’s house while her father, Wayne
Anthony Hawes, went on a shooting rampage that killed five people,
including her grandmother and cousin.

You’re right without guns there is no liberty. Look at the UK, not even cops have guns, there is a complete lack freedom, with criminals running rampage all the time, real hell hole. Japan the same, pure tyranny both places, they even have queens and kings and stuff.

No wonder, much more bang for the buck with Glock than with Apple. And with the iPhone you still need to pay 60 bucks for a monthly contract.

About the only advantage for Apple is the you can play with your iPhone without having to worry about blowing your own balls.

Right? And Australia. Lots of guns then one little mass murder thing happens and they up and turn them all in and lookit what happened next: instant descent into a nightmarish police state dystopia! Whole country’s like a U.S. airport now, except cleaner and with cheaper beer.

The Good Guy with a Gun was never there. He WAS going to show up but he was busy not showing up at a massacre in ANOTHER state.

ā€œThis is a very small price to pay for freedom.ā€ the Republican party

The point is they all needed a gun, all five of the now dead. And they all needed open carry permits.

This thang woulda been nipped in the bud.

Open carry, obviously, should be part of the junior high health class curriculum.

All you liberals hate guns so good guys don’t have 'em and look what happens, as @richardinjax so elequently explains.
