He gives Faux News something to point at that they can say establishes their “fair and balanced” street cred…their “non-propaganda” nature. “We cover both sides fairly and report on all opinions…see…look at him…”
I totally agree with you on Shep’s approach; he sounds authoritative and doesn’t back down from his position. But, I still don’t see the benefit because he’s totally out numbered (yup, pun intended) by the racist scum.
EDIT: I don’t see the benefit to Smith; I do see the benefit for Fox.
“…because we don’t know whose fault it is.”
You are on Fox News Shep, of course we know Eric Holder is to blame for something.
any mention of Al Sharpton is worth a bump both in ratings and viewer’s blood pressure.
And your hunch is on the mark.
I think the benefit to Smith is his own gratification in getting some truth on FOX. He seems to take his job very seriously and likes it.
Yes, the FOX benefit is ratings ($$$). If they let him go, they lose a lot of viewers for his slot. Remember they even let Glen Beck go…once his ratings went south. CNN, MSNBC and FOX are entertainment, and ratings are priority one.
Why…why it seems as though almost all of FOX’s news readers and laughable gasbag pundits don’t understand diversity or have even the slightest clue of the roots of racism in America.

FOX News: "Fear, Ignorance and Intimidation: We Distort: You Abide"
Shep is the only one on Fox News I have any respect for. It’s amazing how much crap and just flat out misinformation FN is allowed to spew without being called out on it at all.
No wonder their viewers are so stupid and uninformed.
The questions should be:
“When are police administrators and fellow police officers going to address the problem of police officers shooting/killing fellow citizens/unarmed black men?”
“Why do police officers think they can violate the civil rights of fellow citizens/black men?”
“When are police officers going to tell these armed thugs–the police officers who shoot/kill fellow citizens/unarmed black men–that it’s time to take responsibility for your actions?”
“Where are the police officers who are condemning these police officers who shoot/kill fellow citizens/unarmed black men?”
“Why aren’t the good police officers speaking out about these thugs in their midst who think they can be judge, jury, and executioner and violate the civil rights of their fellow citizens/black men?”
“When/where are police officers/administrators going to try to address the culture that says it’s okay to shoot/kill fellow citizens/unarmed black men?”
These are some of the questions that should be asked of the police chief, the mayor, and the head of the police union. Why aren’t police officers being interviewed asking why they’re not trying to rein in their fellow police officers who are the ones that brought about these riots?
Pre-natal: Right to Life.
Post-natal: Not so much.
It can be so confusing. That’s why we need Fox News to tell us what is the appropriate thing to be outraged about at this very moment. Tomorrow, well, we start with a clean slate. Unless, of course, we’re talking about Benghazi.
Hmmm. The perspicacity is strong with this one.
Except the apocalypse; Obama’s got that covered.
I’d answer “where’s your children right now?”. The parents are most likely at work you dipshit racist a*holes.
No, I think Shep helps FOX maintain their claim that they are an honest (fair and balanced) news organization that presents all sides to a story. Shep bolsters that claim.
And in all fairness, I’ve seen Chris Wallace and Brett Baier demonstrate some fairness when interviewing someone.
Trump blames Obama, of course.
Beat me to it.
Prepare for some awkward moments in the makeup room.
Why should we listen to him?? Please explain what you are trying to say!!!. If I listen to MSNBC I hear voices n the left or the right even if the reporters lean left. I know that it is not fraught with hate spewing for sure and any opposition that does come on to MSNBC is not met with screaming and yelling. They are treated with respect.
Surprised the viewers have not screamed for Smith to be fired…
