I don’t carry a brief for the sgt, have no idea if he’s guilty of anything or not.
I do know the old saw, “there’s no justice in military justice”.
I had a buddy lose a stripe for walking on the grass.
I had a colleague was threatened with court martial for “failure to read the bulletin board”. They did not go through with it when they learned that a dozen men would swear they saw him reading the notices.
I knew another – an Hispanic – who got court a court martial for disobeying a direct order because he waited 5 minutes to carry the luggage of some warrant officer who despised “greasers”.
The Army will get their pound of flesh one way or another out of this guy.
