This is sloppy writing. While I’m no big fan of Will, his column didn’t say that the focus on sexual assault by colleges make makes rape a coveted status that confers privileges. Here’s the original Op-Ed:
“Colleges and universities are being educated by Washington and are finding the experience excruciating. They are learning that when they say campus victimizations are ubiquitous (“micro-aggressions,” often not discernible to the untutored eye, are everywhere), and that when they make victimhood a coveted status that confers privileges, victims proliferate.”
The original TPM article was accurate - this one is not. Criticize Will all you want - and there’s a lot to criticize - but at least criticize what he is saying, not your sloppy summary of what you think he meant to say.
Oh he doesn’t have the cajones to debate women who have been raped. He doesn’t.
The daughters of people like Will know better than to come to them when they’re in any kind of pain.

I don’t see how the article was inaccurate.
One sentence helped crystallize in my mind just how much male privilege I have.
Q: How many times a week do you explicitly modify your behavior* to minimize the chance of getting raped?
- = eg, when to return, where to park the car, whether to go alone, whether to go at all

I can tell you for a fact: when conservatives are confronted with the consequences of their rah-rah fall in line ideology, they seem to pick ideology over family.
I’ve just learned this myself, to my disappointment and disgust.
I’d love to confront Will one on one my dream of dreams is to punch Will in his ugly kisser repeatedly until he looks like Quasimodo, I loath this privileged scumbag, he need a little dirt under his finger nails, he need to live like the masses for a couple a years, this guy! this guy! not my kinda guy!
Again, where does Will say that Universities are encouraging women to report sexual assault? That’s what you’re inferring. It would be one thing if the article said that Will “implied” this, but the article explicitly states that what he “said.” And that’s simply not true. If Jezebel or another blog wants to do this, fine. But TPM claims to be a legit news organization and it should be more accurate when quoting from sources.

What do you expect from a lifelong Cubs fan? The Bears, ChiSox and Blackhawks have all won champinships in his lifetime. The Cubs last championship was in 1907

So George Will has a daughter? I knew he was a dick, but from the way he acts, I didn’t think he had one.
Alls I know is someone needs to do a think piece on George Will’s toupee. If there’s any icon of white privilege, it is the wearing of dead ferrets by the right wing elite.
George hasn’t been the same since his wife threw his clothes and possessions on the front lawn when she heard of his affair with Lally Weymouth.
This is actually funny/bizarre on so many levels that I can’t believe it’s true.
