Why can’t we look at some states where ballots, machines and voting tallies work every time and make a standard for all states especially for national elections. Then, maybe there would be less chance of the pesky little problems that seem to arise consistently in some states.

Paradise Valley is wealthy. My grandmother and grandfather and an aunt lived there back in the 1950’and 60’s. It is very very conservative. East Valley is red, western Phoenix less so. Northwestern Arizona puts a whole new meaning to red neck red. Flagstaff and Tucson are not liberal in the truest sense but they do consistently elect democrats …with the occasional screw up. Mrs darr and I reside in Tucson.
Arizona will become blue. It is already happening. The AZ House nearly flipped to blue and that would be monumental. The GOP has held the AZ House and Senate since 1969… continuously.

Also, very important to me as an educator is that the Democratic candidate for the superintendent of instruction is also pulling ahead!

I would like to see 20 randomly selected ballots that have been discarded because the signatures didn’t match.
I basically trust most of the people doing the actual vote counting, but this kind of judgment leaves way too much wriggle room for one’s own innate prejudices to come to the fore.

Or if officials are more skeptical in one precinct rather than another.

As of 5 PM this evening, Sinema’s lead is up to almost 29,000 votes (1.35%), with 2.06 million votes counted. That total seems to indicate that there’s something like 150,000 votes yet to be counted - the only number I could find was “more than 2.2 million votes cast”.

Frightening to think that other close elections may have been decided/declared prematurely. Not just in AZ too.
