The Fifth Amendment reads, in part (emphasis added):

Michael Cohen is invoking this clause in the Stormy Daniels lawsuit, because testifying factually would incriminate him. It sounds like Jeff Sessions is trying to do the same thing, without making Trump notice that he’s doing what Trump described thus:

“The mob takes the Fifth… If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

“that calls for a speculative answer” was in reply to whether he’d quit if Spanky fired Rosenstein.

His response to whether he’d recused himself was “The best answer for me, having given it some thought, is to say I should not announce that”. Which is a frickin’ weird response but different from calling it speculative.

Fair enough. I hope we can both agree that he’s still being evasive.
