I remember cringing and thinking that John Ashcroft was terrible as AG. He certainly had some jackboots working under him. But compared to Sessions, he seems - well not good, not honorable, and certainly not normal, but well - almost humane.

Wait. I think I am suffering from Trump-nesia where the current horrors coming at breakneck speed cloud the memory. As I was typing suddenly images from Abu Ghraib came to mind/memory - strike humane for Ashcroft. That mental reminder at hand the best I can say is that at least Ashcroft never gave off the impression of glee at causing the pain of others.

I live 50 miles north of Nogales, AZ and I heard part of Session’s speech on our local NPR radio station. Sessions said that the US was “under attack”… as of every person crossing the border was a heavily armed Cartel member out for blood ready to ravage our wimminzes. And by God Sessions was a gonna stop 'em. It was disturbing to say the least.
