Discussion: Sessions Spokesperson Promised Loyalty To Trump Agenda Before Being Hired

For traitors on the block should die;
I am no traitor, no, not I!
My faithfulness stands fast and so,
Towards the block I shall not go!
Nor make one step, as you shall see;
Christ in Thy Mercy, save Thou me!

She also reportedly told Trump she would be honored to serve him, according to the Post.

No returns, please ! That Trump stench will not disappear for the first 25 years, so you better get used to it…

I’m beginning to have just the teensy, tiniest little bitty doubt about Harvard Law School as a bastion of liberalism. This human remora, Ms. Isgur Flores, an alumna, has variously attached herself to Mitt Romney, Ted Cruz (both alums also, too) and then, by way of Sessions, to tRump’s ample hindparts. Is there something in the water in Cambridge these days?

Falls into the “water is wet” category.

“Every critic, every detractor will have to bow down to President Trump.”

Well, at least if they want a job in his administration.

Hey, listen, pal, this site does have some standards, and I don’t see any of us violating them in such an attempt.

Trump evidently is copying Germany (circa 1933-1945)

“The term Hitler oath (German: Führereid or Eid auf den Führer, “Oath on the Leader”) — also often referred to in English as simply the Soldier’s Oath or Soldiers’ Oath[1] — refers to the oaths of allegiance, sworn by the officers and soldiers of the German Armed Forces and civil servants of Nazi Germany between the years 1934 and 1945. The oath pledged personal loyalty to Adolf Hitler in place of loyalty to the constitution of the country.”

The worst of this is that these people are (theoretically) taking a real oath to protect and defend the Constitution. What will they do when it comes time to decide which oath they will keep – the oath to serve the Trump and its agenda, or the oath to protect and defend the Constitution?

That I don’t feel a need to make that conflict hypothetical concerns me.

Upon further reflection, I have to wonder what Ms. Flores was thinking before/while doing this. Was it ‘say WHATEVER just to land the job’ or… did she really mean it. I would really like to ask her, literally, what that means to her.

If you have a college degree (or even if you don’t) and you know even the slightest thing about the United States Constitution, how on earth could you make such a pledge?

SMH…

The pledge is obviously to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the United States. What else is there to pledge to?

Wasn’t Romney an HBS guy? And as for HLS, while it has its share of liberals among faculty and students, not sure I would ever classify it as a bastion either. Too many corporate hacks and ideologues among the rational there.

One must kiss the ring to serve the king.
Who are these people willing to sell their souls to rob the poor and working class?
Don’t they know the middle class is next, until it is just the rulers lording over the ruled?
