…involving non-whites.

I’ll believe it when Sessions goes after the Hillbilly Heroin/Opiate disaster promulgated by BigPharma and sad drug addicts (Lock. Them. Up.) in TrumpLand as diligently as he wants to go after marijuana users. (“Good people don’t smoke marijuana,” said Sessions.)

Let’s also see how vigorously he attacks white-collar crime, which is as big a cancer to the body-politic as blue-collar crime.

Not optimistic.

White folk are gonna be pissed off if he starts hitting on the heroin epidemic areas…

But somehow I think he’s going to concentrate on “Inner-city” and “Immigrant” violence.

1980’s, here we come!

Weed is the same as heroin in his mind.

Sessions, a hearty supporter of the war on drugs in the past, has also signaled that the federal government could crack down on marijuana use

RIP Sen. Gardner (R-CO)

If Sessions cracks down on states with legal recreational pot he will be throwing money at the Mexican drug cartels. States that have legalized recreational pot are taking money that once went to the drug cartels and filling state and, in some cases depending on how the laws are set up, local governmental coffers, along with creating thousands of tax paying jobs.

Beat me to it. This is being placed front and center on the backs of Black and brown people who he and his cohort believe are the source of th scourge. Not White meth tweekers. Not White drug users.

Maybe he thinks that’s what stunt his growth.

I’m sure that Oklahoma City, home of the nation’s highest water supply levels of Chromium 6, will thank Dear Leader for throwing off the shackles of regulation.

When and where has the “war on drugs” ever, ever been successful?

If the answer is never, makes you wonder about the motivation. One can certainly speculate…

Sessions only sees the potential for convictions. Forget about the economics involved, that legal and controlled sales in the US damages the illegal cartels and generates millions of dollars in tax revenue. The GOP and it’s extremists like Sessions are ideological and will use sledgehammer logic when destroying all the progress we’ve made in regards to sensible drug policy. Giant steps backward suits Sessions just fine.

Cannabis is arguably the fastest growing industry in the world. Regulated marijuana sales in North America totaled $6.9 billion in 2016, a 30 percent increase from 2015. Sales are projected to increase to $21.6 billion by the year 2021 representing a 26 percent compound annual growth rate.

…the bulk of Sessions speech jived with the President’s “law-and-order” message…

Um, no. Nothing Sessions ever says has anything to do with “jive.”

I can’t stand Sessions. Like others I am skeptical of his motives. That said, I found it interesting that he corrected Trump per violent crime statistics and that he is placing and emphasis on guns (in terms of prosecutions rather than in terms of intending to proliferate.) Didn’t expect to read either of those things.

I’m not skeptical at all that Jefferson BS, III, wants to create felony criminal records for as many persons of color as is humanly possible. View everything he does through that prism and all will become clear to you.

SMH and Doh! Of course. Now it makes sense. Completely consistent with his career. Thanks for the response.

Gee, seems like you could go after gang violence by restricting their guns.

Just an idea. Oh, sorry, you aren’t done blowing the NRA? we’ll come back.
