Discussion: Sessions Orders Review Of Police Reform Agreements

Shorthand: we in the Trump believe that any efforts at the Federal level to stop police officers from shooting black men on sight for any reason whatsoever must cease immediately.

Sad indeed that Sessions is laying out the Trumpian mantra on so many issues yet is ignoring the real threat to America: Trump, his dirty minions and crooked family members.

Reminder: when senior Republicans refer to ā€˜the public’ or ’ the American people’, they’re referring to maybe 50 million people.

ā€œLocal control and local accountability are necessary for effective local policing. It is not the responsibility of the federal government to manage non-federal law enforcement agenciesā€ - non ironically stated a member of the same administration that is punitively threatening to withhold funding from sanctuary cities.

He also suggested that the federal government should take a step back when it comes to overseeing local police departments.

Then they should also stop outfitting local police departments with military-grade equipment because the Pentagon either bought too much or is off-loading ā€˜obsolete’ equipment.

Can’t have it both ways.

Granny Sessions still can’t get over the North winning the 'War Between The States."

In the memo, Sessions wrote that the Justice Department must promote office safety and morale, and that police officers should respect the civil rights of the public. He also suggested that the federal government should take a step back when it comes to overseeing local police departments.

How white of him!

Do these guys have any ideas of their own or is everything they do just about undoing the efforts of ā€˜that black president’?

Shorter Sessions: ā€œWe like us some excessive force against unarmed people of color,ā€ giving lip service to the need to protect rights while looking for ways to remove controls to try to assure those rights.

sessons has lived his entire life supporting lynchings as a fair and appropriate penalty when the courts or police wouldnt do ā€œtheir jobsā€.

no one should be surprised now especially after he told us at his nomination that this was his intent.

remember…giving minorities a criminal record is the main step in denying them their voting rights.

states have devised several ways to achieve this starting before the people being targeted graduate high school!!

long ago i championed the idea that the democratic party work on programs and political ideas that would strongly incorporate the African American athlete starting at the high school level…to institute boycotts against the most obvious of the racist run states.
imagine alabama existing WITHOUT any college sports! etc.

to bad such a nationwide ā€œoffensiveā€ has never developed…

Maybe this is a campaign promise Rump is really going to keep: making sure civil rights take a back seat to not hurting police officers’ delicate feelings.

Exactly. Sanctuary cities? We are a nation of LAWS! No soup for you! Racist policing? Who can say? Best leave that to the locals. [wink]

Isn’t it wonderful how, when it comes to cops indiscriminately shooting black men the federal government has no business interfering with local law enforcement, but when it comes to sanctuary cities the exact opposite is true?

So if my police department wants to profile white Southern Baptists with large gun collections, no problem, amigo?

Ah yes bringing back that oldie but a goodie ā€œfailure to comply.ā€ All resulting in ā€œMore harm, no foul.ā€

Republicans are the party of people who, if you gave them a $20 bill, would bitch that it wasn’t a fifty. Our best hope to mitigate the disaster is for those people to derail the whole thing, just like what happened with (up the) Rumpcare.

It looks as if Sessions is going to the be point man to try to appease Trump’s bigoted supporters while their man sells them down the river.

Josh had some graphs a day of two ago showing how Trump is starting to lose support from his base. Things like this are what is being done to shore up the base.
