“In this case and others, the Department of Justice will continue to vigorously defend the free speech and religious freedom First Amendment rights of all Americans,” he added.

“All,” he continued, “except the gay ones.”

“And the coloreds.”

“And the Jews, of course.”

“Did I mention the Muslims?”

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Monday that he was “pleased” at the Supreme Court’s narrowly reasoned 7-2 decision in favor of a Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple,

Oh, gee……funny how Jeffie isn’t too worried about Kennedy claiming “further elaboration” is needed on the issues of “indignities” towards gay people.

Of course the little Munchkn is pleased as Miss Lyndsey on a hot summer night after a bedtime phone call from his boyfriend Maverick. Just all warm and giggly with some tingles in all the wrong places.

Meanwhile - it’s ok to now refuse service to all deplorables and christians. You wearing a cross? No soup for you.

“The Justice Department filed an amicus brief in the case last year arguing, essentially, that Phillips’ First Amendments rights as a baker trumped his obligation not to discriminate specifically against gay customers.”

Effen ridiculous!

My two cents.

I hope that bigot’s cakeshop goes out of business.

While I don’t have any sympathy for the baker, it seems a tad counterproductive to compel him to make a cake, for which he would receive money from the gay couple. If a baker refused to make a cake for me because I was Jewish, black, gay, or whatever I would tell him to F himself and that it would be a cold day in July before he’d get a penny from me.

How does this not open the floodgates of religion-based segregation, founded on the concept of “religious liberty”?

My religion insists that i persecute those who are different from me. Republicans are unclean heathen. They must be expunged from our decent, fact-based civil society!

Don’t forget the womenfolk.

And who knows what the baker would put in the cake?

Meh…they’ll take victory any way they can get it…even if it requires imagining it. It keeps their base riled and voting and that’s what will happen this November: they’ll vote, we won’t, shitshow continues.

“In this case and others, the Department of Justice will continue to vigorously defend the free speech and religious freedom First Amendment rights of all Americans,"

Suddenly there was a burst of lightning from an otherwise clear sky and Sessions was gone.

If only irony could be deadly…

Sessions is 9nly happy because he thought that if the baher had to bake for gsy weddings this would somehow effect his business at Keebler.

So I guess this opens the door for some white supremacist Christian Identity type to refuse service to blacks and browns because it violates his religious beliefs. Sincerely held religious beliefs and all.

Yes, I’ve stopped using a business for less than that. OTOH, it does open the door for religious based discrimination for – you name it – being a Muslim, Jew, African American. This would be the precedent.

Yep. That new religion you speak of is called “Trumpism”

Cheeto Jesus has spoken!
