Discussion: Sessions Didn't Disclose Kislyak Meetings On Security Clearance Application

For most of us little people, that would be a prosecutable offense. Good to have friends in high places, eh, Dobby?

I guess if you’ve already perjured yourself over secretly meeting Russian spies, lying on the form doesn’t seem like that big a deal.

Well, why should he. Nobody else in this crowd did. There must have been a memo from the transition team that said, “Whatever you do, don’t mention the meetings with Ambassador Kislyak.”

And this man hasn’t even recused himself after lied under oath. He said he would recuse, but he really hasn’t, it was just that he just wouldn’t be the face of the investigation (in the Nunesque language).

Resignation is the minimum. And of course I don’t think that’s enough.

Did all Trumpus’ appointees meet with Russians first? I hope somebody looks into new SCOTUS Neil Gorsuch background.

The friendly FBI agent must’a been in the NYC office, probably someone Giuliani mentioned as a good contact. Idiots always have a rationale don’t they?

”Attorney General Jeff Sessions did not disclose on his application for a security clearance last year that he had several meetings with the Russian ambassador…”

Who among us hasn’t forgotten several meetings with the Russian ambassador?

This is totally plausible.

Especially for a life-long, right-wing, anti-Russian Republican from Alabama.

Who’s the Attorney General of the Unites States.

Happens all the time.

The FBI said it was OK, but what would it have hurt for him to have listed those meetings?

It would seem that the Russkies performed their own ‘vetting’ process

This is just one more nail inthe coffin of what is shaping up to be one of the most corrupt administrations in American history. Perhaps this will be a superlative claim that Trump can truly brag about – from jail!

Russian vetting process: if you don’t die slowly from plutonium poisoning, you’re good to go.

You are submitting an application for SECURITY clearance for the position of ATTORNEY GENERAL…you disclose ANYTHING that might even HINT at being questionable so as to not inadvertently leave something out. What the actual fuck?!?

I mean, why should he bother? It’s just a formality and doesn’t apply to him anyway. (Edit: I see I’m not alone in this comment.)

Well obviously if you don’t want those peons on the DoJ to know what your motives are, then you leave all the questionable stuff off your security clearance form.

I know what you mean, but please don’t denigrate an imaginary character from an imaginary race in a work of fiction… by comparing him with our next former Attorney General. Not even Shrek.

It’s also good to have your oversight body in the tank for you.
