Lying just comes naturally to these sociopaths.

How concerned Old Beauregard really is about the drugs at the border can be seen in the consequences of his making “zero tolerance” the top priority:

I believe Mr. Sessions is technically what is known as a “lying piece of shit.”

I read a piece recently that said we will need to hold truth and reconciliation commissions when/if this nightmare ever concludes.

I disagree. I think we need to finally hold these “public servants” to account in tribunals, and sentence them accordingly.

I wholeheartedly believe that it is the lack of accountability that has led us to this juncture. Beginning with Nixon, the crimes have steadily escalated and none have paid a price for their flagrant lawlessness. This crap will never end until people finally lose what all felonious scofflaws value most: their money and their freedom.

I was unaware there was a crisis that needed addressing. Republicans don’t like brown people coming into America for anything, but welcoming of immigrants and refugees is something America has always been and done. They want to change that standing in the world. However, i think that describing BAU immigration as a crisis is a bit out of touch with reality. Then again, they are Republican, so their victimhood is obviously reaching crisis-level proportions.

A little decorum, please. They prefer the term “Lacentem fragmen stercore.”

Hey, I think I’ve just hit upon the motto for the GOP’s next commemorative coin.

Do someone have the full AP article, with the footnotes supporting Sessions claims?

Sessions said more than 80 percent of children crossing the borders arrive alone, without parents or guardians, and are “often sent with a paid smuggler. We can only guess how many never make it to our border during that dangerous journey.”

80% seems a little high, almost as if it’s a complete fiction, which I’m not implying because I don’t want to hurt the Attorney General’s feelings.

That would be the digital Shitcoin currency?

I think we need every member of Congress to put on his or her big person pants and seriously take on immigration for the long term. That will require that they deal honestly and carefully with the lives of the 48 million immigrants in the United States both legally and illegally.

What has been missing from the immigration debate are all the changes the Trumpers want to make to legal immigration. Nobody talks about Trump’s obsession with chair migration, and changed quotas for black or brown people. All of it has to be in the mix of a comprehensive immigration reform bill. a bill that conservatives have long opposed because they want to use immigration as part of their culture war.

I heard similar numbers in the past, but that seems to have changed in the last year or so. These days more are arriving with parents. Parents are often sending children to the US in danger of being recruited into gangs. They remained behind with younger children.

I suspect the only way we solve the immigration problem is to deal with our drug issue in a more effective way. That is why those countries suffer from all the narco gangs.

yeah, but in non technical terms, the Dark Elf is also a “lying piece of shit.”

There is no crisis.

Ask the mayors of Texas border cities and they will tell you without fail that this is 'Trumped" up nonsense.

Sessions is the AG and head of the DOJ…either he is deflecting, doesnt understand the law or does not consult people in his department that could help him grasp the details…best explanation he is another liar in the Dons criminal enterprise.

I want my wall! I mean the Orange Whiners’ wall.

An excellent protest would be a faux wall plastered with photos of missing immigrant children.

Just like the original War on Drugs started by Nixon, it was never about drugs and entirely a dog whistled Jim Crow 2 - disenfranchising black men by making them felons.

On a different note, this also shows Sessions either trying to suck up to Trump or just falling in line in the same odious ways because Sessions is an authoritarian and authoritarians obey, and Trump’s first instinct whenever something goes wrong is to try to blame someone else, and Congress works as a stooge he can try to throw under the bus. Meanwhile the GOP elements of Congress are trying to blame Trump without officially being disloyal because they’re almost as allergic to responsibility as him. Just a big stupid political game of hot potato while children suffer by the thousands.

Small quibble: Sessions isn’t doing this for Trump, he’s a true believer. Being in a position to inflict pain like this on lesser humans and to reverse the browning of America is what he took the job for; it’s what makes suffering all the humiliation Trump heaps on him worthwhile. Don’t forget, Stephen Miller was a senior Sessions staffer.
