Discussion: Sessions Announces Leak Crackdown, Is 'Reviewing' Subpoenaing The Media

This appears to be a dog and pony show for an audience of one.

Unless the ‘leak’ is of classified information, there is no crime, correct? It may be a violation of one’s employment agreement to share confidential information, but that’s not the business of the DOJ. That’s an HR problem.

Were the transcripts of the phone calls with the Mexican pres and Australian PM classified?

You think you’ll get them to reveal their sources?

You won’t, Sessions and they don’t have to.

Witch hunt, witch hunt!

Great news! They can start with the leaker-in-chief and his catastrophic betrayals of top-secret information directly to the Russians, and …

Oh, wait.

Ku Klux Keebler couldn’t find a leak if his tiny little life depended on it. And it does…

Good luck. The Trump administration generates leakable info a rate unseen before. What are they going to do? Kick the leakers out of a chaotic shit storm and into a saner world? It’s not going to stop and the Truimpies are right to be concerned.

Sessions on Friday emphasized that he had invested resources into addressing the issue, saying the agency “has more than tripled the number of active leak investigations, compared to the number pending at the end of the last administration,” he said.

Ah, but which leaks? Javanka’s leaks that they use to buy encomia from the NYT, hoping to protect their brands? The “Senior Administration Official” the WSJ keeps quoting who sounds suspiciously like a dimwit from Queens? Bannon’s leaks to Breitbart or Cernovich?

Or are they just going after WaPo? Are they just going after the ones that embarrass them?

I don’t know much about journalism, but could reporters burn the sources the Administration likes if they go after the sources they don’t like? Would that be an effective defense?

So…I guess this means Trump leaked the phone call transcripts to distract us from the news of Mueller’s GJ. Wow, that is some serious 4D chess

I don’t suppose it’s crossed their minds to reach out to President Obama for some guidance.

Of course we all know Trump loves leaks.

Kinda of hard to “classify” something when a foreign third party was on the other end of the phone and who may have no qualms in sharing the transcript with the world.

These clowns are really not that bright.

I continue to believe the volume of leaks is directly correlated to the contempt in which people hold this President. They won’t subside until he goes.

What happens when they find that key, high level members of the T-admin are responsible for a good portion of the leaks? (Bannon, Jared, et al.)

Good luck with that, Wimpy the Dwarf

Review away. This administration has neither credibility nor legitimacy to go after the media.

Funny how all the fake news ends up being confirmed by the administration.

They’re seeking a change of venue for the Russia investigation—out of the actual courts and into the famous court of public opinion. Not gonna work. Sorry about that.

If this keeps up the DOJ might have to start hiring. This as attendance at Amazon job fairs dwarfs(no pun intended) Sessions’ efforts to find qualified applicants who look good in a sheet.
