Discussion: Sessions Aide Explored Ways To Spy On 'Disloyal' Coworkers To Prevent Leaks

Piece of work, that one. Way to boost morale, genius. And speaking of work, for one of the few times in my life I wish I were the head of a big, well-run company with thousands of good jobs. Iā€™d tell the Obama holdovers they could have any job they felt they could do, just show up Monday. Nobody should have to be whiplashed from great to awful between one day and the next, or endure that stench just to pay the bills.

Because it makes sense to find the leakers rather than repair and prevent the problems.

Maybe Iā€™m naive. I would expect that if you treat your professional staff with respect, they will carry out your policies, even if they disagree with them, and will not leak embarrassing details.

Now thatā€™s a real Monday morning moral booster for WH staff if I ever heard one!

If they werenā€™t all so busy doing evil, destructive, stupid shit ā€¦ then leaks wouldnā€™t matter so much.

Thereā€™s a disturbing presumption that anyone not hired by Trump is inherently ā€œdisloyalā€ and that loyalty to Trump, not to the constitution, not to democracy, not to the interests of the United States, is the only measure that counts. Anyone who points out that this isnā€™t the way democracies work is immediately (and, I suppose, rightly) labeled ā€œanti-Trumpā€ - and on that basis, their concerns dismissed as political.

I keep thinking about the US Attorney firing scandal. If that were to happen today no one would blink an eye. For this administration, itā€™s business as usual.

The White House has become a mini-Kremlin, full of palace intrigues, jockeying for position and power and prestige, back stabbings, character assassinations, leaks, lies and skulduggery. In other words, Trumpā€™s perfect TV reality show.

Run for office. Register people to vote. Get to the polls.

THIS IS NOT NORMAL.

Of course he did.

It was clear from the beginning he was there to oversee political loyalty to Trump.

From the linked articleā€“
ā€˜ā€˜Cohen-Watnick himself reportedly played a role in a Trump White House effort to leak intelligence reports to Devin Nunes, the House intelligence committee chairman.ā€™ā€™

Seems like Cohen-Watnick wanted to leak for Trump, too.

If you spent half as much time just telling the TRUTH and stop the grifting and the lying and covering up the BS in the WH, the leaks would dwindle.

It was clear from the beginning he was there to oversee political loyalty to Trump

and to cover up for Spankeeā€™s disloyalty to The United States.

Donaldā€™s not used to having leaks because before no one gave a shit what he did.

Yea, letā€™s attack the symptoms instead of the cause. You want Trump to stop being portrayed in an unflattering light? Then gag him and fire all his cronies.

Well, see, thatā€™s where the English language fails us yet again.

There are leaks that are evidence of disloyalty to the administration, and leaks which are proof of fidelity*. Like cleave and cleave - opposite meanings, so you have to look at context. In this case it all depends on who is Trumpā€™s designated enemy.

*And leaks that happened in certain Moscow hotel rooms in 2013. But thatā€™s beside the point.

Esp after all the emails went missing.

I keep telling, you what a viper pit the White House has becomeā€¦

And, of course, this would/will quickly become subject to abuse to further their true intentions, which is purging all political ā€œenemies of the stateā€ from the law enforcement agencies so that they can then be turned towards the effort of punishing and persecuting said political enemies while protecting political allies.
