Discussion for article #239395
People forget that “Fraggle Rock”, a Muppets show, was an HBO original series at one time, so what’s the big deal?
It is hard to see the connection. Does HBO want the TV tuned to its channel from 7:00 am to midnight?
I’m just glad that we can finally hear them cuss. That always bothered me.
Bert and Ernie would never be allowed to come out on PBS…
That would put the nail in the coffin for public financing.
How long before we get to see Bert’s head on Loras while shaving Renly’s chest topped by Ernie’s head?
I wish I knew how to do memes because I would totally make one for The Wire with Bert with a long diagonal scar down the center of his face, a doo rag, dressed as Omar and saying “Come for the king, you best not miss” and with Farmer and the Dell playing in the background.
Or, some scene with Bert and Ernie’s heads placed atop Schillinger and Beecher’s bodies.
Jim Henson’s humout was always a little subversive. When can we expect their characters to do cameos on “Last Week Tonite with John Oliver”?
It’s okay I understand
This ain’t no never-never land
I hope that when this issue’s gone
I’ll see it with your clothes back on
Take you car, Yes we will
We’ll take your car and drive it
We’ll take it to a motel room
And take 'em off in private
A part of me has just been ripped
The pages from my mind are stripped
Oh no, I can’t deny it
Oh yea, I guess I gotta buy it!
My blood runs cold
My memories have just been sold
My program is the centerfold
Angel is the centerfold

My cherished childhood memories and early parenthood of children during that run are abased. I am hurt! *With apologies to The J. Geils Band
Will this be an exclusive move to HBO, or is this supplemental programming? If this brings more Sesame Street to a broader audience and more kids, then hurray!!
The show is know for its celebrity guest spots
And this article was not sponsored by the letter N
Actually, it was produced by Canadian TV. HBO just broadcast it.

“[A] new deal between HBO and Sesame Street….”
The deal, engineered by Trump Ventures, rebrands the show with a reality-television format; co-brands a chain of Big Bird GMO Rotisserie Restaurants™ with Monsanto; and takes advantage of tax breaks to redevelop the entire area as luxury rentals centered around a new 80-story Sesame Tower.
They’re not producing Sesame Street either… Sesame Workshop will continue to do that. HBO is paying for it and airing it (first – PBS will air it later).
I’m not entirely happy with this development, but in fairness they’re not handing the actual making of the show to HBO.
I know everyone is pleased about Bert and Ernie finally being able to come out and graphically show us their love on-screen, but, let’s face it, we all know that the really kinky stuff is what’s going on between Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch.
You think more people would have access if it’s on HBO rather than PBS? A question not addressed in the article: Will it no longer be on PBS until the HBO run is over? That would be terrible.
