Lindsey’s growing a back bone?
I think he sees an opportunity to become one of the most powerful people in the senate by playing both sides of the aisle. All it takes is a couple of Republican defectors to kill just about any bill. The Rs will try to buy his support, so I’m not counting on him or Flake or any of these others to be a complete firewall against the far-right blitzkrieg, but he could at least be an ally on some of the worst of the worst.
All of us need to be protected from trump. I seriously hope that at some point the cabinet will vote to enact the 25th Amendment , section 4 and send notification to Pence and Ryan of their wishes as the amendment states and get trump removed from office due to mental incapacity. This man is a serious danger to all people everywhere if given the powers of office.
America protects children.

The senate is getting more and more interesting.
As a South Carolina resident, I think Lindsey is a tragicomic figure. He’s always torn between what is politically expedient and what he knows is right. He’s surrounded by crazies, and he knows it, but he can’t get out of it and continue being in the Senate. So once in a while, like now, he becomes part of a noble cause.
It’ll never pass both houses of Congress with veto proof majorities.

This is also why Trump is trying to pick off as many moderate Democrats as possible – Heidi Heitcamp from ND, if she were to take a job in the administration, then ND’s governor gets to select a conservative Republican. The more conservatives one, the better to be able to stave off any coalitions the Democrats might be able to forge with (currently closeted) moderate Republicans.
I don’t think Trump is pushing Graham, Flake or anybody else to the left so much as moving his “supporters” even further right. It’s just the optics of relative motion.

This is Obama’'s obligation, which he can - and must - constitutionally do by issuing a presidential pardon for any and all Immigration law violations to everyone who has registered as a dreamer.
Speaking of dreams, it is a cruel hoax of a dream to think that protections for these kids will ever get through a Republican Congress. So, Obama needs to man up on this and grant the pardons on December 24-- if not before.

When you have to “protect” children from Trump he is #WinningBigly
