Discussion: Senators Key To Kavanaugh's Confirmation Keeping An 'Open Mind'

“fold” implies they once ever stood… (they didn’t).

Among those 4 only Murkowski is a “maybe”.

Collins can be written off as she is a lying sack of shit that does whatever Trump tells her to do.
Brown and Manchin are both “Yes” votes as getting re-elected is all they care about.
Heitkamp can be guaranteed to vote whichever way her strongly Catholic and Conservative N.D. voters want her to, which is a resounding “YES” on Kavanaugh.
and don’t forget about McCaskill. She might roll over on this too to help her re-election chances.

Face it. Kavanaugh is all but confirmed and it’s all over but the shouting from Democrats who look more and more desperate and impotent each day.

Lets just hope they don’t damage their slim chances of taking over the Congress in 2018 with a Sisyphean Stance on Kavanaugh that they cannot win that turns off Democratic voters with their incompetence.

Let me consult my magic 8-ball: The Answer Is No.

If they weren’t so utterly incompetent at messaging, we’d already be looking at commercials meant to frighten everyone. Instead, we’re looking at articles about two of the biggest concern trolls on the planet and in the history of the institution.

Until it comes time for a vote when he will be rubber stamped by the most cowardly group of Senators to ever pretend to have American interests at heart. If you ever loved the country, you have to be heartsick about our current fate.

Senator Collins is concerned. Well, I’ll sleep better at night now.

Just heard Raj Shah on All Things Considered trying to snowball Ailisa Chang that the President made his own list of candidates to pull from. That he didn’t ask about Roe v. Wade with interviewing Kavanaugh, that the Federalist Society didn’t raise and train these jurists, and he talked over her. Bad Raj, bad.

So my expletives are at critical low levels, thanks NPR.

NPR has become an embarrassment to political journalism. Really though, that happened more than a decade ago.

Profiles in Cowardice - if the Democrats don’t fight this for everything they are worth, I think a lot of people will be disheartened. And Susan Collins is like a grandmother tut-tutting over the news that her skinhead grandson just beat up an immigrant for fun. “I am very concerned about your attitude, Spike.”

Yeah, me too.

Senators Key To Kavanaugh’s Confirmation Keeping An ‘Open Mind’

Their minds are so open you can see right through them.

Not meaning to further inflame @georgeh, (I do understand his frustration), but the problem we face in the Senate as regards to inequitable representation will only get worse.

The only fix is amending the constitution, an all but impossible task for team blue

Thanks, Ralph. I appreciate your consideration and empathy. Those are both excellent articles and help to explain why a Constitution written for 13 agraian states more than 2 centuries ago is obsolete today.

Thus, the undemocratic oligarchy of wealthy white males remains firmly in control for the foreseeable future.

We need a revolution, really.

Stop with the BS already and say you are going to vote for the man. None of you showed any sense of politeness when Merrick Garland’s name was placed in nomination. You wouldn’t even give him the time of day. Save yourself the embarrassment of trying to look like you give a damn about doing your job right.

“…Kavanagh has already been as good as confirmed…”

Of course he is. And I never dreamed I would be saying this about the Sup Ct: The fix Is in, sure as God made little green apples.
