Discussion: Senators Crafting Bipartisan Changes To Hill's Sexual Harassment Policies

Women of today appear to be sending quite the signal - ENOUGH! Old adage rings true; behavior towards women in society should reflect the respect and dignity you would afford your Mother, Sister and daughter.

Exposing harassment starts an overdue discussion in America.

Trump: I will never sign this warrant targeted specifically at me. No one can regulate my behavior.

Iā€™m surprised they donā€™t all have to sit through the training to begin with. I think every other federal employee is required to take the classes.

But even if they do take them, the classes are simply CYA for the organization. The people who are predators are still going to behave in reprehensible ways. Iā€™ve seen people take the class one day and the next day they are back to being total slimeballs, and not in a sarcastic way.

The training doesnā€™t do anything but check a box. They need to fix the way they react to the behavior. Hopefully the new rules will do that, but I suspect they will get watered down in the process.

And when theyā€™ve got the new guidelines theyā€™ll enforce them as aggressively as they enforce the Ethics rules.
Talk about posturingā€¦
Solution? Vote 'em out.

Last month Sen. Hirono (D-Hawaii) tweeted, ā€œPretty much every woman that I know, myself included, has a #MeToo story.ā€

Sounds about right to me.

Everyone will have training except Conservative Republicans and Bible Thumpers because they are pure.

Itā€™s too soon to talk about sexual harassment.

As laudatory as Capitoā€™s proposal is, itā€™s a shiny object with which to distract voters, away from her support for the various anti-woman policies that the GOP have put forth

Againā€¦WHY JUST THE STAFFERS??? The people in POWER aka ā€˜Senators and congresscrittersā€™ need to take training, sign on the dotted line that they took the training and be fully aware of the consequences.

Just appreciating the irony of these changes occurring under the ā€œleadershipā€ of the most predatory of Presidents.

On top of this, weā€™ve got Corker looking at the whole nuclear football thing, also inspired by Trump. Now if we can open up the emoluments clauses for further tightening.

They have diplomatic immunity. They can do as they please.

Iā€™ve worked in a number of National Park Service locations. Online sexual harassment training is always required. Itā€™s pretty good (for online). Apparently for Congressional employees it was required or not depending on whose office it was. Can you imagine what Congressperson or office manager would decide their employees could do without it?

Having said that, of course in the past couple of years there have been huge sexual harassment scandals in a Florida park and the Grand Canyon, among others. The fault, as with everything, goes to the top people at each location.

Iā€™ve taken this training at various jobs. Usually itā€™s inane to the point of worthless. The scenarios they set up and answers asked for at the end in the test section lead me to believe complete idiots walk among us.

Mary comes to work in a short dress and plunging neckline.

Do you
A)-Leer and compliment her on her nice bust and rear end, or
B)-Discreetly avoid making comments about her clothing and keep your remarks to work related subjects?

Gee, I donā€™t know, can you give me a hint?

WTF?

These are Republicans. They probably hit on their mothers, sisters and daughters.
