Of course these assholes are. This is a supine branch of government who just opened a subsidiary with the judicial branch. They’ll keep their yaps shut.
(Anyone want to bet on any of these fucks now okay with bringing Syrian refugees in…oh, I couldn’t write that with a straight face.)
At least Tim Kaine is consistent in being tough on executive overreach, whether it’s Obama or Trump.
“He doesn’t need an AUMF to act in the national security of the United States. He doesn’t. He is the commander-in-chief and he has the right to act expeditiously to address a threat,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) told reporters. “He has a right to defend us every single time.”
Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) didn’t even think it was necessary for Trump to brief the public on his next moves.
“I don’t think anybody benefits from the President explaining what we might do," Blunt said. “It’s important that both the Syrians and Russians wonder about what we might do.”
Marco. Trump wasn’t defending us. We weren’t attacked. Trump and Mattis cratered a Syrian Government airfield as a punishment at the price of a cool 100 milion.
Roy. Trump is incapable of explaining anything owing to the fact that he’s early onset senile, rat fucking nuts, or both. I know that a lower functioning individual such as yourself would rather not have any responsibility for the common good or accountability thrust upon them. But, since you are a person that has difficulty drooling and lurching at the same time, there it is.
And makes one wonder: if this is “defending us,” will the Muslim ban get ratcheted up since that also is “defending us”?
Pure farce.
Bunch of fuckers standing in line … with wads of paper in hand …taking their turns in wiping down the toilet seat after donnie does a tinkle —
May as well just all stay in there and collectively wipe his ass for him too —
I’m sure none of us have ever had a problem that began with saying “OK, I’ll let it slide just this one time but no more.” Ne-ver had a problem begin like that.
Senators Cool With One-Off Syria Strike, But Want A Say In Anything Bigger
Here’s Senator Corker indicating with his hands exactly how big it would have to be in order to require Senate approval:
These worthless jerk off gas bags love to talk and be interviewed .
Other then that I don’t see they have any value.
Big money tells them everything to say and do, except when and where they can fart.
In principle, I don’t have a problem with the President ordering bombing of an airfield used to launch a chemical weapons attack. Taking no action would send a dangerous signal that further such attacks might also be tolerated. Waiting for Congress to act might mean, in effect, taking no action in time to prevent further attacks.
Unfortunately, in this case the President shares a large part of the blame for the fact that the attack happened in the first place – Trump’s pro-Putin rhetoric and his hey-Assad’s-not-so-bad rhetoric obviously emboldened the Assad regime to test the limits of what would be tolerated.
As a result, innocent civilians, including children, died in the chemical weapons attack, and then more of both died in Trump’s retaliatory missile strikes. They paid the ultimate price for Trump’s shocking lack of preparation and his dimwitted, chest-thumping, magical wand approach to foreign policy. Assuming this unprecedented level of foreign policy malpractice continues, they won’t be the last to pay that price.
Question: where was the imminent threat to national security? There is none.
There have been over 7,000 airstrikes against Syria since 2014. This accomplished nothing. What was the goal? What is the purpose?
Nothing.
The entire “better than inaction” line is complete BS.* This is a Media Whore moment and it certainly will give off the impression that this unfit, unqualified, incompetent scumbag can’t possibly like Russians because lookie here! He’s being so tuff! Useless tool Nikki Haley is about to do a Kruschev impression at the UN (irony, no?)
Pure and utter fucking farce.
I’m so angry right now, only John McCain can sum it up:
*I do not mean this at you, personally, at all. It’s the sentiment, that very sentiment which has never worked for this country but keeps being invoked.
