Well yea, of course itās a scam. A secret report that doesnāt say much is all the cover the āmoderateā GOP needs to vote yes. Did Democrats really expect anything else from the GOP? Did Dem leadership really think the GOP would let the FBI actually conduct the investigation in āgood faithā? The GOP does NOTHING in good faith and any Dem leadership that thought they would deserves to go!

Assuming he gets voted in, here is my hope for long term. The vote is straight party line. This rallies the Dem base into a raging blue tsunami and we take both houses next month. With investigative power, they uncover all the backroom shenanigans and cover-up of known Kavanaugh sins. More despicable behavior is revealed upon further investigation, things so heinous that he has to resign or possibly even be impeached and removed.

Yesterday, the GOP tweeted how the original background investigation into K contained no indication of sexual misbehavior or problematic drinking. Today, the WH has already said this new report exonerates K.
So much for not talking about the content of background reports.

If Kavanaugh is seated, dems take the Senate and the House. The backlash the Republicans will get will be of their own doing.
If Kavanaugh is not seated, Republicans hold the Senate through equalizing the excitement gap then trump nominates someone who will vote the same as Kavanaugh.
Either way, repubs get a reliable 5th vote on the SC.
At this point weāre better off at least having the Senate going forward the next two years.
Iām sure none of the 4 democratically appointed SC justices Plan to retire but Iād rather the insurance on the other 4.
I was pretty angry with Nixon, Reagan, Bush Major and Bush Minor, but I never gave up on America. With Trump and his gang of legislative stooges, that may change.

This do ranged dysfunctional angry candidate for the supreme court will be on a short leash an answer to Donald Trump. He will bring chaos to the supreme court and create a hostile work environment why because thatās what you people do. Youāre nothing but a puppet for Donald Hinchman heās the worst president in our country is it streak and you belong to the worst Senate and our countryās history all youāve been is yes white men for Donald Trump. This is a good analysis and somewhat comforting. The fact is, we could lose/win and they could lose/win under either scenario. If Kavanaugh gets on the court, it might just prompt someone to file a criminal complaint.
GOP is counting on that - giving up. I pray that that doesnāt happen, especially with young voters. If heās confirmed, a lot of people will be very, very dismayed. The GOP never gives up. Cannot cave.
I am beginning to think that the GOP and Trump are planning on fixing the Mid Terms. They have done nothing to avoid Russian interference and the documented recommended vulnerabilities. They are being this brazen because they think it is not going to cost them.
The US Constitution sets forth a system for establishing rule of law suitable to the age. Our law now includes a modicum of rights for all, protected by various institutions. Unfortunately, the creators of the Constitution never imagined, nor did our best minds of the time when it was tested in the Civil War and its aftermath, that an entire party would dedicate itself to the dismantling of institutions. Yet that is what must be done to strip such rights away. In the Great Tearing Down, the Democrats are those who cling to the belief that our institutions must be protected to protect all of us. The Republicans believe that the time when that was possible is gone, and by dismantling institutions the state power can at least be used to protect them. Everybody else, not so much. Naturally, there is a robust patina of Fatherland and patriotism, but a lifeboat mentality all the same. Sort of like United Russia.

Whatās with the SCIF and the secrecy? Is there classified information in the FBI report? Weāve heard and seen the testimony, the statements, the signed letters, the anonymous letter, the frustration of some at not being able to give statements, the very presidential mocking, the lies ā¦ And we will hear more lies from the WH and the Republicans. What more do they need to cover up? This is just a way for the Republicans to be able to lie more about the contents of the āinvestigativeā report. Letās see it.
